Big question I have is who slides into the top line center position. Would be a shame to break up Kadri and Backlund’s lines. Wondering if Sharangovich can play center?
Yeah I'm quite comfortable with this trade, with the potential to be very happy about it. I feel like it could've gone a lot worse based on this team's track record.
Very nice to not be sweating over this one. A lot has to go wrong for it to suck for the Flames.

Progression is what you want to see in prospects though, right? The guy that's killing it this year, and moving up the rankings, is the interesting guy. Personally, I think people tend too put too much weight on pedigree: "they were a 1st rounder!" (4 years ago). Personally, I value progression - I get more excited about the players that are really moving forward through the D+1 and D+2 years, than where they were drafted.

Don't know why. He's a CHL prospect. There's no NCAA loophole to fret about.
Ya if we don’t sign him before the draft in 2025 he just goes back in the draft. Wait, that does seem like a loophole where the Flames could lose him. That being said I am sure the Flames will sign him.

Those highlights make me more than happy. Hopefully he finds that scoring touch here.
3/4 of the goals were finding spots in front of the net, for tips which he's clearly good at, or sliding to the side of the net and getting "lost" to defenders, for tap ins.
Helps playing with Pettersen who can create space in the zone to get initial shots through, but nice to see someone with that in tight space skill, who isnt afraid to stick around the scoring areas. Flames just have to do the same, but that's easier said then done as their game is built in speed more then zone possession, so that may be a problem.
My guess it Tocchet's offensive zone style changed this also to more of a speed style, and no longer is him just making his way to the front of the net, enough.

Agree. It didn’t take long for Gaudreau and Wolf to become the most exciting picks in their respective drafts, justifiably so.
