A few thoughts from this game:
- Wranglers came out pretty sluggish, the rust was real.
- As unfortunate of a decision as it was to give Phillips a major penalty, I believe having to kill that penalty early really woke them up. Lead to the opening goal 4-on-4. Hopefully Phillips comes back Friday with a vengeance and doesn’t face any additional discipline.
- Wolf was absolutely unreal. The goals that went in, he didn’t have much of a chance on. I’ve probably watched that save on the cross-crease pass 100 times.
- Walker Duehr looks like an entirely different player From the player he was to start the season in the AHL. Going to have to appreciate this farewell tour that is called the Calder Cup Playoffs.
- I think this was Clark Bishops BEST game as a Wrangler. He didn’t hit the scoresheet but was definitely one of the most noticeable forwards, some sneaky good offensive opportunities.
- Wonder if we will see Kuznetsov in for Rubins on Friday, he was a bit underwhelming.

Looking forward to the sequel, that player development of the antagonist, Phillips, was quite the plot twist.

Are we worried about Phillips being suspended tonight? In the AHL, Match penalties are automatic suspensions until reviewed by the league. I don't think it was a penalty let alone a Match but the the lack of news so far is a bit concerning.

I’m definitely a bit concerned, from what I recall there is very little pageantry or information available when it comes to off-ice news from the league. You don’t get to hear much.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he is out indefinitely pending a hearing, I also wouldn’t be shocked if he’s already been cleared and the league didn’t bother to announce anything.

Looking at ticketmaster, it appears they’ve sold up to row 13 in the second level across 10 sections. Will be the best attended game to date…
There is going to be a parking nightmare… there is already limited parking and the Calgary Comic-Con is taking place simultaneously at the BMO centre.

Was at the game last night. Super fun night. The hockey is fast, obviously not as mistake free and hard-hitting. Man, Phillips takes a beating out there. Pelletier too. I didn't think he'd be back to start the third after getting creamed.
Brutal cross checks to the upper back that should have been called. The reffing was pretty bad. Especially the smaller ref. He just looked like he wanted to be the centre of attention out there.
Love Pelletier. He is a whirlwind and so positive with his teammates. Duehr looked good. Zary really needs to improve his skating. Someone will give Phillips a good look next year. It just won't be us (boo). Poirier has the tools but will need plenty of seasoning in the ahl.
Amazed Hoglander kept getting shifts with 4 penalties and the likeliest reason they lost the game.
The evening made me mad we aren't filling the stampede grounds with Flames playoff hockey.

I was happy to see the officiating eventually swing back in favour of the Wranglers, early on they appeared to be ignoring a lot of the Canucks infractions… Was happy to get the powerplay in OT, but I definitely I feel there were some more egregious non-calls in regulation.
The one call against the Wranglers that really stuck out was the “slashing” call on Dryden Hunt. It was a stick-on-stick check, he didn’t didn’t get into the gloves, the Canucks stick didn’t break either, and they called that Slashing!?

I think that one was just a quick make up call since the call that had just put the Wranglers on the PP was nearly as equally soft.
