Can't you go 'play offline'?

The very first thing you do when you open the game is log into B.net. Everything is tracked through B.net now, including the single player campaign and achievements. As far as I know there is no "offline" mode. A bit of an oversight on their part as I'm sure lots of Starcraft players don't have reliable internet connections.

Server is down right now. When it can't connect there is an option to "play offline"
Doesn't track achievements (dunno if it adds them when you log in) but you can still play and watch replays.

Does that pop-up when it doesn't connect? The only option I could find was to play as a guest.

I couldn't find anything through search's so I thought maybe one of you could answer my question regarding when a defeat is actually achieved. I just played a match where we both attacked each others base at the same time. I took out his first but still lost mine, in the meantime I was rebuilding a Nexus and had another probe at another point just in case. I had all but taken out his army but he managed to finish off my new base. I still had a probe waiting elsewhere, I went back and watched the replay and it was still alive (I also had 1200 minerals so enough to build a new nexus). I also had 6 carriers, all he had was a few ultralisks. Somehow right when he destroyed my last nexus it gave him the victory. He had only a vespene guiser left and a few overlords (no drones to rebuild, where I had a probe left). My understanding was that if no one surrendered it was the player with the last unit remaining that won. Am I mistaken?

Once your last building is destroyed, you lose.

So I should have started a new nexus, I was choked because I had him beat. Oh well good to know.

Which is lame because Zealot rushes aren't hard to stop. If you scout 2 gate and no gas it's pretty obvious what's coming.

Yea I didn't feel it was really necessary but I'm not too upset about it either.
It was basically an instant win against Terran if you didn't wall or pull out some amazing micro because it would be two Marines vs two Zealots and I guess the thing is that it didn't really set the Protoss very far behind either.
I like the Siege Tank nerf. I'll actually win more games as a result of it because I don't use them that often (too immobile)

Its a cheese factory out there in bronze. I just played my first online match with Zerg after only a few games against AI. Tried a Terran bunker rush and the funny part was I watched the replay and his SCV ran right under my overlord going into my base and I didn't notice. Then he tried to setup a factory outside of my base and tank rush me. Check it out. http://www.sc2replayed.com/replays/6...elnaga-caverns
Edit: Probably would have work if he didn't screw up and build an engineering bay instead of a rax first, lol.

I had a guy try and land a factory on the platform of my base early in a game today, as if I wasn't going to hear it touchdown or notice it sitting there.
