Rough without Tanev but still the right call. Still gotta trade Hanifin etc. they will play better in the 2nd.

Huska didn't need to throw the D pairings into the blender. Just had to throw the extra guy in line into Tanevs vacated spot beside the exiting Hanifin. Roll the other 2 d pairings like your 1 and 2. Treat Hanifin pairing as the 3rd.

To be fair not like the Flames should be re-signing him even if he wanted to. Just not a great first period at all without him so far.
