My son woke up crying hard tonight, and not long after I heard the news I was holding him and he rested his head on my chest and got calm and quiet. He never does that anymore. I'm not saying there was any special reason he did it, other than it gave me comfort knowing he's safe with me tonight.

There's a part of me that wants to rage and kick things and ask how can this happen and why does this happen and do all sorts of nasty things to the people that do these things to children - but what does it help? What does it accomplish? I just.......I don't even know what I just......
That poor sweet innocent life. I feel horrible for her and for her family left to deal with such devastating outcomes and the loss of two people they loved very much.

I feared the worst when I first heard of this abduction, and even more so after learning of what happened to her dad. I was desperately hoping to be wrong. I just can't fathom how anyone could do that to a kid.
