I wholeheartedly agree. Doesnt mean I'm optimistic though.
This is such a weird team. When they have every advantage they find a way to lose, but sometimes, when everything is stacked against them they find a way to win.
The only two things you can say with absolute truth about this team:
- You hate loving them
- They are consistently inconsistent

A demoralized team takes the ice to loud boo's and leaves the ice to louder boos and throws in the towel as this cities turn against its hockey team is complete.
They lose loud and fans abandoned the Flames in massive numbers.

With the way the season is going and the offer sheet mess, the "boo birds" are ready to pounce. If Calgary does a no show, it could be the loudest collection of boo's to end the game in saddledome history.

I want to see McGrattan beat the crap out of a Canuck. (preferably burrows or lapierre) then the flames dominate the Canucks 8-1.

That would make this game worth watching! Lapierre wouldn't have anymore teeth for his stupid grin.

Nobody in red is pummeling anyone in blue. This is the Calgary ButterSofts we're talking about.

Here's the article...seems my memory is still ok:
Page A2 of the May 15, 1986 Herald. Starts the last paragraph on the left:
