Every prospect is young by definition. Wouldn't you consider the qualifier of "young" on top of prospect to be someone more recently drafted?
Edit: Maybe not, but Grushnikov is younger.

5. (D) Artyom Grushnikov – 2021, 48th Overall
2022-23: Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL) – 65 GP, 8 G, 17 P
Artyom Grushnikov was a real *ahem* bulldog in the defensive zone while playing in Hamilton last season. The Russian defenseman is a left-handed defensive-defenseman that finds ways to get stops in the defensive end. His compete level is noticeably high, and when he’s on his game, he takes up a ton of space in his own zone despite having average size.
Grushnikov will find his fit at the pro level alongside an offensive gunslinger that needs a reliable partner that can compensate defensively. His offense will almost certainly be extremely limited at the pro level, but he doesn’t need to be a point-getter to carve out a role for himself. His overall ceiling probably coincides with his defensive ceiling, and it will be quite interesting to see how he fares in the American Hockey League this season.

I am. If you're look8ng at points you won't be impressed. But he's a great puck moving LHD. Breaks out better than most. Good skater. Needs work offensively.

Seems like a decently mediocre return, but then again we tend to overvalue our players. This Flames team is not a playoff team for a reason.
Hopefully these guys knock off the winning and start losing from here on out and we maximize our own draft position.
Given this weak return, I wish they would have done this earlier to help boost our own picks value.
Really happy that this is done. Additional 2nd round pick is lovely to see. Keep 'em coming Connie.
I wonder if it's a secured 3rd round pick that becomes a 2nd based on Stars success? That'll be key to this return. If it's locked in as at least a 3rd, I like the deal a good bit more.
2nd + 3rd + recent 2nd? Seems fine to me.

But I’m sad to see Tanev go. What a player. Best in the league at what he did for a lot of his stay here.

Nobody was negative about the Lindholm deal.

Flames scouts must really like Grushnikov. It’s clear this was the market for Tanev but I was hoping for a little more for such a dependable defenseman but the market seems a little down this season.

So a 55ish pick, maybe an 85ish pick (assume it's Conference Finals or something) and an LHD prospect, with Flames retaining for a warrior defenseman who wasn't racing out the door. Fine, maybe, but certainly not a home run IMO.

Wonder if there’s a potential return to Calgary for Tanev this summer. I know it’s been thrown out there by a few people

Scott Wheeler ranks Artem Grushnikov #10 in the Stars system. Doesn't sound amazing. He sounds like the kind of player who may defend well based on his skating, without being overly physical or providing a lot of offence. Wheeler says time will tell if he can be a 6/7 defenceman in the NHL.

I feel like if Grushnikov is going to play his style in the NHL, he's going to need to gain 30 lbs or so. But if he's only 180 lbs at nearly 21 years old, I don't know why he hasn't put on some of the weight by now.
Then again, you could say the same about Pospisil. He's somewhat of a unicorn.
