With Allen signed through next season they have much less flexibility under the cap to get a deal done. They may still need a guy but they just made it way harder on themselves to acquire Markstrom.

Not sure what people wanted here considering there were a few legitimate starting goaltenders available and Jersey was so unwilling to pay for any of them that they traded for a backup with poor stats instead.

Conroy said weeks ago that he wasn’t trading markstrom unless someone blew his socks off with an offer. Obviously that didn’t happen and I’m glad he held his ground. We didn’t have to trade him this year.
