Well duh.
There are no carbon emissions in the east. Just in the west.
So much for the vaunted carbon tax. Now they have just shown that they will remove the tax as needed to win a vote or two.

If only there was a way to get something more cost effective that was less damaging to the environment to the customers who need it in the eastern part of Canada.

I mean, they would undermine your economy and economic opportunities if you lived out west. But not too far west, if you were far enough west they would give you free cocaine and fentanyl.

Funny you mention Harper, I recently found out he's the chairmen of the right wing WEF, the IDU.

No this is pandering.
Heat pumps are a viable alternative and are being subsidized heavily. So people are choosing to make uneconomic choices to keep heating oil. The tax and grants are doing what they should. Make bad choices expenses.
This is a slap in the face to the Carbon Tax. It’s supposed to be punitive. If they wanted to do this correctly increase the rebate for people in homes heated with heating oil don’t tie savings to heating oil use.
Morons.

Actually, for this one we would probably do some “remember the NEP?” dunk and call on Trudeau Sr. who would have delivered this.

You can tell your friend that identity politics is a signature of Trudeau and Biden. For example

It's hard to fathom why they would scrap the heating oil tax when you consider, as we've been told by the LPC:
We are all going to die if we don't tax carbon.
We get back more in rebates than what is spent in carbon tax.
Super duper strange they would halt it, when our lives and pocketbooks are at risk. The tax that actually makes people richer should be there to protect us!

The takeaway from those numbers isn't Conservatives struggling with women, it's Liberals struggling with men.
That's where the big discrepancy presents.

Lol no doubt liberals are still trailing Conservatives with female vote just not as terribly as men. Quite the victory.

I expect Trudeau’s brand plays a big part.
When the whole Jian Ghomeshi thing went down, one of the things reporters investigating his background learned is he had no close male friends. The students he hung around with at university were women, and he was at the forefront of all the progressive causes and student union activism, drawing attention by doing things like standing front and centre at abortion funding rallies and shouting the loudest. He was in Moxy Fruvous, but none of the guys in the band said they were particularly close with him. Even the women who dated Ghomeshi told reporters that they found it odd he had no male friends.
I’m not suggesting Trudeau is an abuser like Ghomeshi. But he gives off the same vibe to men of being ‘that guy’ they knew from school. The one who tried way too hard to appear virtuous and enlightened to women. It comes across as self-serving and insincere.
