My Sunday morning hangover meal when I lived in Killarney was two Glamorgan Bakery cheese buns and one sausage roll.

Think I’m gonna pick up some cheese buns this weekend.

Even though we live in the NW, we put our kids in a school that was in Killarney to be close to the Glamorgan bakery.

I'm surprisingly excited for the Bowness Superstore to open this week. I don't go to Superstore often but going to the new store will be much more convenient than the Country Hills stores.

Urban legend has it that there was an underground casino in that building and people can get their fixes after the regular casinos close at 3am in the old days.

Not an underground casino (would be haven been destroyed by 2013 flood anyway) but Golden Inn would serve beer past last call hour by putting it into the teapots and serving it as tea.

Does anyone know when the city put up the dome at Shouldice? I think it is over the Encana field. I saw it for the first time today from the ridge in Varsity and it looks really cool.

It is a shame that the Bownesian Grocer closed, but I don’t think that anyone can blame them for packing it in before it got ugly. Covid really helped the big stores with online ordering and pickup, but hurt the little guys.

And then add in Save-On opening in Trinity and Superstore rising from the Sunnyside ashes. And the Farmers’ market. The Bownesian didn’t stand a chance.

Even if I don’t use the Bowness Superstore location much, it should take some of the traffic away from the Hamptons location. The W/NW can definitely use another Superstore.

The owners of Sunnyside made millions selling that land. The houses on the southeast side were theirs as well.

News story this morning regarding the single lane traffic circle that was just put in at the north end of Sarcee. This will be the major access point into the shopping centre for most people. Sounds like fun!
