Kind of wild they didn't have to use one of those retention slots, makes me wish a little bit that they had used it on Zadorov and gotten that rumored bigger return, but I guess it could have painted them into a corner, and perhaps the 3rd slot could still be used in a deal with Markstrom or someone else

He's a UFA next season. Have a year and a half to see what kind of player he is.

Are the Flames the 1st team to have no representation at the all star game?

Chicago doesn't have any either, according to Ball last game.

In the end, it's a rental lindholm for the futures that are accrued in this trade plus those from the future Kuzmenko trade. Hopefully he's very motivated with VAN sending him away.
Connie did well.

B- for the Flames.

I am glad Pronman doesn't like it, given that guys track record that means we hit it out of the park! Of all the guys that do future watches and talent projections he is by far the bottom of the barrel.

Oh yeah, didn't he put the Flames prospect pool near the bottom of the league?
So much for that.

If we could wrangle New Jersey's 1st this year there is a good chance that Tij Iginla would be available around that spot. Markstrom and Tanev to New Jersey for their 1st and another prospect?

If he performs and fills the net without hurting the team he might return another asset net deadline. Risk associated with that which the Flames are not being compensated for IMO. So where is this WAY more return?

lol some are hard to please…I guess time will tell. If this “garbage” yields you 50-60pts is it still garbage?
At the very least he can be flipped and yield something in return next season…

He was signing and talking about how cool the pride jerseys looked after that game. Rumour was it was his family back home that is staunchly opposed.

Kuzmenko is apparently very disappointed to be traded but also relishes the chance to prove last year wasn't a fluke. I don't think it was. I do think he was not going to do it with Vancouver.

They said that about Lindholm at centre in Carolina. Plus, NJD had Hughes, Hischier and Haula, as well as Mercer and Macleod. They were crowded at C. And then Meier came in at wing.

Brzustewicz looks like a decent prospect. Jurmo is meh. Needed to add D to the system, though.

Nah. This very thing has happened before IIRC. Plus there were some formats that left some teams out before as well.
