There aren’t a ton of really likeable guys on the Blue Jays but Kikuchi is one. I hate to see him get pulled here. Hopefully it’s really precautionary.

That was an incredible double play. Sure helps that Stanton may be slower than Kirk.

Kikuchi seemed to enthusiastically explain that he was ok.

I’m hoping Schneider said, “you did outstanding work and we are likely going to Garcia in a few batters so let’s do the safe thing and give you the rest of the night off.”

Dr Munenori Kawasaki has prescribed bananas to Kikuchi.

A cramp in the trap is definitely minor but it was a good call to pull him. If he stayed in but his mechanics were thrown off, he could really do damage.

102 to get Lemahieu looking. More importantly it means Judge leads off next inning and the most he can do is hit a solo shot. What a pitch.

Hicks threw only 12 pitches and was solid. I'd let him pitch to the heart of the order in the 9th.

Not now. Plus the Jays seem very careful with him more than any other reliever, which is just fine.

Save him for a game that's closer.

Looked like KK might've been grabbing at his lower right back when he crossed home. And as Dan mentioned. Vladdy looks a little lame. Hopefully that explains his poor effort out of the box today.

Huge win. I don’t know what the hell happened in that Rangers series but it’s nice to see the rebound.

Maybe because he has diabetes?

I don't know, everyone wants to be a step up the ladder from where they are - Hicks was a closer for awhile in STL, he'd probably like a chance to earn a spot. He's been pitching well in general lately, and that 8th was excellent.

Plus, pitchers care about stats. If he finished out the game he'd get a save. Because of the runs scored in the 9th Pearson didn't, no save was awarded.

I think you get buy-in from the players if you help a guy out sometimes, especially when he's earned it.

Obviously a little thing, and not how Schneider manages at all.

I legit think his legs are totally gone. He could barely run tonight. Not gonna try and lift the bucket when the legs are out.

It's harder for a big man to play every day, so he's going to have to commit again to really good conditioning in the winter. I don't think he'll ever be svelte, so he needs to make sure his muscles can handle the every day strain so he can last until September/October.
