More of a random thought but I cut pop out of my life a decade ago, so the odd time I have one these days I immediately get the hiccups.

Honestly, I'd much rather have coffee or booze.

Man, that's crazy. Lifeguards (assuming those are the shortage) used to be a job everyone wanted and paid really well in relation to other summer jobs.

Just throw up a sign saying "No lifeguard on duty. Use at your own risk" voila.

I'll add to the fact that it's almost impossible for the average person to get swimming lessons for kids, too.
If classes are open to registration, it's full within minutes.

According to the article posted above: "He said there is less demand for swimming lessons in the summer months"

Right. So maybe they fill up in 4 minutes instead of 25 seconds...

There's a huge backlog of kids who couldn't take lessons during the pandemic who are trying to get in.

That seems to be pretty much everything these days. Summer camps for kids, camping spots, etc. etc. RGMG that you have to plan everything out so far in advance these days, which sucks for those that are not able to.

Knowing what is gong on and not being able to speak my mind for fear of being reprimanded also GMG.
So...back in the day I worked at the Family Leisure Center as a cashier.

But they learned that I had a certification as a Life Guard...that turned my life into a hell on earth hitherto unknown to 17-year old me.

Thats why I applied to be a cashier...an entirely different sort of hell...

Where could we look to find out more about what you're alluding to?
Or create a new alter-ego/personality/CP user and let 'er rip.

Green peppers.

Had a lunch and learn at work and the caterer put green peppers in the sandwiches, and now that's all I can taste.

I hate green peppers. they grind my gears.

God, why are people so oblivious in airports. Guy sitting next to me in West jet lounge takes off his flip flops and puts his dirty bare feet on the table in between us. GTFO.

They’re so dumb. “Let’s pluck this red pepper before it ripens and eat it while it tastes terrible”.

Is it Calgary Transit policy to never turn on ventilation or AC until about 5 minutes before the end of the route?

How often can a psycho neighbour who literally disturbs the peace of an entire block have the police called before we start throwing bricks through her windows?
