This resignation statement has "speaking imprecisely" and sorry for getting caught energy.

"My choice of words". Uh, no, it's becuase you are bat#### crazy. Too bad she is resigning, having UCP crazies in winnable ridings for the NDP is a good thing.

EDIT:
https://338canada.com/alberta/1072e.htm

Looks like it is a pretty easy win for NDP, didn't realize it was Shannon Philips' riding. Still, keep that crazy train rolling. The more the better.

"Imprecise speaking" is "rejecting the premise of your argument" 2.0.

I am getting the impression that this election is going to be a clownshow of unprecedented proportions.

Albertans are not going to be covering themselves in a lot of glory with this one.

I'd suggest authorizing a 'Purge' the day before, but the people we dont want winning are probably better with the guns.

As much as I wasn't a fan of Nenshi in his earlier days he needs to take over the Alberta Party and give us an alternative.

She has a point though.

I can't believe the NDP would stoop so low as use her direct quotes, from an unedited video she produced, to hurt her chances of winning!

That's dirty pool!
How are the UCP supposed to win with a system, where the things candidates say can be used against them, so stacked against them?

Here we see an Albertan conservative, disappointed with his team's continual gaffes, imagining some other reality where the NDP isn't far and away the most logical vote for anyone who isn't knee-deep in convoy conspiracy theories.

... And so it goes, that when our intrepid Albertan right-winger enters the voting booth they'll dutifully X the name next to UCP and sigh. "I just wish I had a choice."

Is your cognitive dissonance so strong that you don't understand that in an alternative fictional reality where Nenshi led a successful centrist Alberta Party, you'd simply be saying the same thing?

You don't even like Nenshi. You're gonna vote blue and pretending that if there was a different centrist alternative that you wouldn't is sadly transparent.

You're just a little sad about your team right now. Happens.

Thanks Alta Guy, based on your single post, I'm now going to vote for UCP.

SMH, why can't NDP supporters just be humble?? And a little bit more nice?? And also change your party name. And maybe the colour too, ew orange.

I do think that there are a huge chunk of Albertans in this sort of a position though. The NDP is going to spend us into oblivion, and the UCP is incompetent and completely doesn't align with almost any of my views. Super great options there.

It's not like Smith has been exactly restrained on spending. She got an oil windfall, and is spending it like crazy.

Stereotypes. Elections are always about the stereotypes.

You mean taxes and union dues? Probably not much.

Statistically though they’d almost certainly be coming out further ahead than they would without paying union dues.

And, of course, their term in office.

Imagine what we could have done with a whopping $20B, which would have been real money to spend on pressing issues around the province. All we had to do is show a backbone and tell already-stupidly-rich resource companies to clean up their ####, instead kneecapping ourselves and simping to them.

Honest question, is there objective evidence that confirms that the NDP were worse than the UCP at managing finances? I know there's the examples like the light bulbs (vs. the pipeline to nowhere) but overall, I'd like to know whether in their one term, were they objectively and significantly worse at it than their counterparts have been?

Part of what makes me ask this is that the perception in the U.S. is that the Replublicans are better financial stewards yet there have been many studies that show that Democratic administrations have been better; yet the perception remains.
