Maybe - I know Mikey's was facing a huge property tax bill at the current location.

Went to Pad Thai on 4th st and 30th ave NW. Quite good, probably the most authentic green curry I've had since being in Thailand. The pad thai was decent, but not quite the same. Good lemongrass chicken wings to start, too. I'll defiantly be going back to try the masaman curry. Give it a try, it wasn't very busy!

I find pad thai (the dish, not the restaurant) is like butter chicken. Different everywhere and everyone likes it a certain way. I don't really bother ordering it at restaurants here. I'll make a $2.50 bet on a street vendor's pad thai that it will be close to how I like it, but a $15-16 bet at a Calgary restaurant is a little too much.

Crap that sucks. That location is brutal. The food was amazing though and something we don't really have anywhere in town. I hope he's able to bring it back. If he could get in front of the corporate lunch crowd I think I'd be a hit.

I totally forgot I had a $250 Da Guido gift cert I got through work about 3 years ago. Found it in a junk box just this week.
Went to look up their contact info to make a reso and found out they're closed.
There are a bunch of poor reviews from a few months ago so they must have closed fairly recently.
Guess my unclaimed GC wasn't enough to keep them open.

Really? I thought the food was average at best. Went once, would never go back.

It was spaghetti. Better than Spaghetti Factory, Boston Pizza or Nicks. What were you expecting from a family spaghetti restaurant?

I like to try it when I can as a tester for the restaurant, but the street version is always the best. Though I make it at home myself quite often using the Thai Kitchen sauce. It's not to much work and that sauce is pretty close to what I liked in Thailand.

If someone is going to claim;
"The food was amazing though and something we don't really have anywhere in town. I hope he's able to bring it back. If he could get in front of the corporate lunch crowd I think I'd be a hit."
You better be talking amazing pasta. But its not IMO. I don't think its any better than BP's.

I saw a tweet today that Laurier Lounge is reopening with new ownership? I didn't realize it had closed.

The coal shed in bowness is awesome.
It's bbq themed and I had lunch there this week and the brisket, cornbread and fries were delicious.
It's owned by the same folks who own big fish and open range

My fiancés dad is giving it a try for the 3rd time. Was Giuseppe's, then Amantea's and now it's called Parm. I think he finally has the correct management in place and a proper chef. It is officially open beside 10ft Henry. If anyone goes and has any positive or negative things to say about it, shoot me a PM. Really hope it works out for him as it's his last go at it.

Second Mikey's juke joint set to get jumping starting this Friday
http://www.theyyscene.ca/music/secon...arting-this-f/
Q: So you always plan on keeping the two? You’re not planning on closing the other one?
A: Nah. No plans for it. (Laughs) Unless somebody makes me an offer I can’t refuse, I might as well keep it. But it’s doing good over there … So if I can’t make it down here, I’ll quit. (Laughs) I’ll go back to playing sax full time.

Went to Market over the weekend. Great food, service was pretty good.
My only complaint was my coffee came in its own french press but it was a weird one and I pressed to soon so it was weak. Maybe I am being a pain in the ass, but for $3.50 or whatever it was, I want someone else to make my coffee...
