James Neal and Jim Vander-pylon for me. Don't understand seeing Brouwer pop up over and over again, he was still a decent checker despite not living up to expectations. Hagman and Kotalik were far worse imo.

Just wanted to add to the wtf comments about Titov. Good player.
Worst is hard to define. Bubble players are always going to have less ability, and usually have corresponding short careers in the big league.
Disappointing -- I can think of a guy who's on the team right now. But I'd say Gary Leeman has to rank right up there as one of the most memorable duds in the franchise's history.

Also I know he was a legend and brought "intangibles" but Jagr was awful when he was here.

You young'uns need to hop into the time machine and learn about Scary Kari Eloranta!
He'll give you fond memories of Anders Eriksson! Well, maybe not but he was the worst defenseman I ever did see in a Flames uniform.

The answer is Jonathan Huberdeau.
115 pts to 55 pts to 52 pts. His play (and contract) has single-handedly set this franchise back 5-8 years.

100% chance of a serve hailstorm!
I enjoyed hoping each game was finally gonna be his first.

What about Sergei Priakin/Pryahkhin?
Such a big deal was made about the first Russian (2nd actually) to come to play for a North American team and he was severely underwhelming. A big deal was made because he was the 1st Russian player allowed to play here so I expected a very good player who would make an impact. He did not.

Chris Drury. Whiny little Bi**h. Didn't want to play in Calgary.
Not the worst player, but the one I hated the most. Locker room cancer.

Some good all time terrible players, so I won't repeat what others have already said. I'll just write some names that I was extremely disappointed by when they were here.
T.J. Galiardi
Dean Evason
Aaron Gavey
David Hale
Chris Dingman
Jeff Friesen
Blake Sloan
Mason Raymond
Cale Hulse
Edward Ward
Kevin Dahl
Chris Dahlquist
Troy Brouwer
Fun fact: James Neal had 19 points in 63 games, and Martin Pospisil had 24 points in 63 games. It just goes to show you how little the counting stats actually matter when evaluating a player's impact.

i feel like we need a most hated flames player thread also, not just worst. there will be some gems on that list also. based on expectations, Niedermayer was up there with Brouwer/Neal

Titov was a good player. Babchuk could be frustrating at times because it seemed like he should be better with the tools he had, but it just never came together.
I think sometimes disappointment gets factored in. While the player might not have been absolutely terrible, when you are expected to be an impact player and don't deliver, it gets magnified more than the tweeners and stop gap players that were always going to be nothing more than warm bodies.
It would be interesting to see how it would look if you considered games played for the Flames. Like worst player to play 100 games for the Flames, worst to play 200 games, and so on.

Doesn’t meet the half-season threshold but from a purely statistical and comedic perspective it is hard to top Tim Ramholt’s -1 in 45 seconds of ice time.

Another story, at the Lake Country Subway standing in line after some hockey. Look behind me and its Todd F'in Simpson.
I go "Todd Simpson". He was genuinely surprised someone recognized him and happy about it. I start saying this guy was on the Flames to my kid, he was awesome. "I don't know about that".
So I said "you used to live 5 doors down from me where I grew up. You lived With Iggy and Joel Bouchard on XXX crescent." How do you know that? Because I saw you guys, and we got mail delivered mistakenly.
He runs to his car to get a photo to autograph for my kid, I pay for his sub.
My kid has no clue who he is/was. He's still got that photo in his room on his shrine.

Yeah, I mean someone mentioned Hamonic, who was nowhere near the worst defenceman to play for the Flames. It's more about his impact on the team as a whole.
Titov was one of my favorite players. Worked hard, was pretty effective at his job.

Eloranta. I was at a game he was behind the net looking for a pass out of the zone. He took so long the ref blew the whistle and gave him a delay of game penalty.
Has anyone said Weimer? Surely someone has said Weimer.
