I am actually excited about this game. I have essentially lost all interest in the NHL since the Christmas shutdown and all the postponed games yesterday. I haven't been able to watch more than 10 minutes of a game at a time. Hopefully this one is entertaining enough to get me back into the action.

Fragile team with little depth missing their 3rd and 4th best forwards in Nuge and Hyman and also missing their 60 year old starting goalie. If the Flames play their style and Markstrom plays well this should be a convincing win. McDavid does light the Flames up from time to time.

Flames need the first goal and just crush their spirit.

I want Edmonton fans at the end of their rope tonight. I want to read articles about how the Flames outclassed them with their superior depth and star players dialed in.

Funny thing is there are Oiler fans who are also hoping we crush them tonight because they think it will force the organization to make a move they do not want to make.

Honestly worried about this one. If there is one team that can break McDavid and the Oilers out of funk, it's the damn Flames choking one away. I hate how it's a "thing" that McDavid owns us, but that's the reality. Keep the gaps tight, play them hard 'n' rough and stay out of the box. Weather the storm when needed and step on their throats when the time is right.

Need Markstrom to not #### the bed tonight. It will be utterly disgusting if the Flames lose this one.

I really hope this game turns into a blood bath. I hope Calgary comes out early and puts a couple in. All hell breaks loose.

I know most of us want a blowout but I mostly just want the boys to go in and execute the system properly and get the W…..a blowout would be nice though

Going to be far less dramatic then most on here, nevermind the hypercharged and over dramatic game thread; don't care if the Flames win 1-0 or 6-0, lets not just get dragged down to the level of Oilers (or their fans).

This game means far more to the Oilers then it does the Flames, and being on HNIC etc, they will want to make it a statement game. If the Oilers want to start stuff, let them be distracted and have the 4th line of the Flames engage them in the third period after its 4-0.

Oh come on, you care.

I had tons of fun watching that Panthers kill them 6-0. If it was the Flames, it would be even better.

Obviously I'd still be happy with 1-0, but 6-0 on a Saturday night would be even better.

So you're saying that you'd like to see Looch knock the piss out of Draisaitl?

It would be satisfying in some ways, but I like pissy Leon. It makes him come across as such a spoiled child.

Sure, but the expectation here by more than a few is "we best Florida by 4 and Edmonton lost by 6, so anything less than a 5 goal win and the Flames should be embarrassed".

And I think a close game prolongs the agony up there, though the knives in the media are sharpening for Tippett (when Rishaug says it's close, it's not his opinion, it's based in messages from above he's getting) he may throw the game himself to get out of that situation sooner than later.

Big game feel. Tonight is basically an elimination game for the Oilers. Stomp that neck!

They have over half a season left, elimination might be a stretch

I'm with you. Beating them 3-1 with the third goal be an empty netter, their fans will go to bed with the could've, should've, would've agony and that is delicious.

I'm fine with the Flames playing a tight, boring, vintage Sutter-style defensive game as long as they win.

But I can't help but feel giddy with anticipation at the thought of a Oilers soul-crushing, blowout loss.

Sutter hates the oilers . I hope he has a goal bounty on for the night.
For every jersey on the ice the Flames will donate $100 dollars to Kidsport or some other needing charity.
It's a good cause ya know. Keeps spirits high .
Go Flames Go.
