There is no scenario where I will understand willfully shutting the water off mid shower. Am I alone in this being a novel idea I’ve learned for the first time now? Is this a common thing people do?
Commonly known as a navy shower. I don't at home but when we are camping and water is at a premium I do it all the time.

It’s so simple
Camping for sure.
Also cold showers. Ill shut it off and soap up before getting back in

Absolutely not. I refuse to accept an exception of camping showers applying to home. That’s like saying you drink your own piss at home to stay hydrated because “if you’re stuck in a desert you have to conserve liquid”.

- I brush my teeth before I get into the shower, that way any toothpaste foam on my face is properly dealt with.
- Mouthwash is working while the water heats up before I jump in.
- I use two different soaps for junk and body.
- I wash my legs because I'm not a savage.
I'm fine with it, but just seems like a hassle. Do you have a two toothbrush situation going on in your bathroom, or at night do you have to scamper into your shower, get your toothbrush, then scamper back into the shower to return your toothbrush so it's ready to rock in the morning?
I have my shower in the morning, and my wife does hers in the evening. So my toothbrush magically reappears on the counter near the sink in time for my evening toothbrushing.

Surprised there is so much consensus here. Its never even dawned on me to wash my legs. I don't think I really wash my face either, at least not with soap generally.
I mean obviously if I'm really dirty from yard work or whatever I'll give them a suds but every day?
I work top to bottom so skipping my legs on the way to washing my feet would feel insane.

Hmmm, I go bottom to top. Am I doing it wrong? I go feet, legs, abdominal, neck, arms, pits, nuts and butt. I figure I am going roughly from cleanest to dirtiest.
