Never played the game so I can't know if that makes the show less enjoyable. But, if it does, it doesn't matter because I'm really really liking it without the game knowledge.

I skipped over most of this thread because I don't want spoilers. I've never played the game... but after watching the first episode last night I'm pretty sure this show is my kind of jam.
Really impressed that this show keeps up its momentum. About halfway through the series and it keeps getting better. Between this, Invincible, and the Boys, Prime is really killing it...or at the very least working just hard enough for me not to cancel my subscription despite their new ad system.
I paid the couple bucks for no ads, figured I use it enough that it won't bother me. After 2 episodes, I'm sufficiently hooked! Cant wait to binge this on the weekend.

Great series of games too. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the show.
I haven't progressed past the first episode yet, but I wanted to comment that I'm pleasantly surprised at how receptive non-game players have been to the series. Hopefully that means that it will have some legs that it can stretch out in the same expansive ways as the games.
As for spoilers I'm not sure if the game players like myself have much to spoil outside of the basic framework of the backstory and setting. Each game was its own story set against the same essential setting. Unlike The Last of Us which seems like a more direct adaptation.
Maybe there are some insights into the mythology and in-universe history, so I'll stay tight-lipped on all of it unless it's brought up in the show.

Watched the first episode and was impressed. I never expect much from video game based shows. But it seems like they are starting to get better. Seems they nailed the aesthetic and vibe of the game. Look forward to the rest of it.

Only 3 episodes in but love it so far. Also, found out that you can play Fallout 3 and New Vegas on Amazon Luna for free if you have a prime membership. Haven't played yet but worth checking out if you haven't played the series before.

I've been avoiding the thread, which is too bad, because I too didnt play the game and didn't want spoilers, but everyone in the thread has been prety good about that!
Further, its like the epic Catch-22.
I want the show to be dropped all at once so I can just feast upon the content like fat kid with cake and nobody looking...but also, I like the weekly drop because you can kind of ingest the content, re-watch it, and have discussions about it.
I'm just about done E5 at the moment and I think after a respectful period of time, it would be interesting for the 'Game Players' to sort of clue the rest of us in on what we missed.
Also...Moises Arias? Does that guy ever grow? Did Disney inject him with some experimental serum of eternal youth?

There actually isn't a lot of lore in the series. The story is original.
Slo-mo kills are a feature of the game, other than that there isn't really anything that wasn't explained.
