Uhh, way rather see what Andersson has. Seen lots of Kulak and he's been underwhelming. Andersson has had a better year in the AHL then Kulak ever has. Would like to see Rasmus jump him on the depth chart.

This is not about getting a read on prospects. This is about ensuring that the Flames have enough serviceable NHL defensemen heading into the playoffs. Kulak and Andersson will both be in Calgary full time starting in April.

Well ya I agree, just would like to see Andersson ahead of Kulak on the depth chart going forward. Even if Kulak was healthy I would like to see Rasmus play ahead of him. He's really young but let's get his feet wet and see what he has right now.

Been hoping to see Rasmus Andersson called up to play over Dennis Wideman for a while now. Hopefully he gets to play and experience the speed and pace of the NHL game and hopefully he isn't afraid to make some plays and take some risks. The mistakes should be great for his development.

Regardless of if he plays or not, it's cool that Rasmus has been called up.

Credit to him for getting the call for a taste of the NHL. A nice reward and learning experience.

How's Rasmus' conditioning been going? I wonder if he'll be able to keep up in the NHL playing ~15 minutes/game

Dennis must have really po'd coaching staff if Flames use a call up over playing him.

Lends credence to the reports mailed in efforts at practice.

If he had taken his demotion professionally and worked his tail off during practices, you would think he would be in. -unless he is just that much regressed.
No sympathy if it's the former, but feel bad for him if it is the later. He had a good career.

The Flames are not allowed to use an emergency callup over playing him. Let's not jump to conclusions.

Does no one read the threads? Rasmus is an emergency call-up, which means that the Flames can only use him if they are missing both Stone and Hamilton. If it's only one, then Wideman plays. If it's both, Wideman and Rasmus play.

I haven't been following the Wideman news train. Do you have a link for this?

It was a guy reporting what a reporter said. However Wills has said that Wideman is working hard and has a good attitude.
