unfortunately due to a rule change this year Polansky doesn't get 1st round loser points (which would have been 10), he still gets 1st round loser money though ($37,000 US)
He does jump 6 places this week to 126 and is now ahead of Pospisil.

Strange match...At times he looked like a top 50 player and at other times he looked like a bottom feeder. He was certainly laboring for the majority of the match. The discomfort must have been unbearable for him to pull the plug suddenly and lose those points.

yeah, that's how players below the top 100 play. They can be world beaters for short periods of time. But to sustain beast-mode over hundreds of points, that's only reserved for the best and most focused

On my way home to catch the tennis. Go Genie!
What is the deal with Bouchard's recent comments about ignoring the "haters"? I find it hard to believe anyone can hate Genie. Is it just that anyone who has criticised her drop off in play is automatically labelled a "hater"?
Also, at trivia the other night we were asked "Which country does Genie Bouchard represent in tennis?" Thanks for the free point!

Genie on the run - a better player would be dismantling her.

Take a look at Facebook comments - many accuse her of just being a pretty face who gets more attention than she deserves. They accuse her of being more interested in fashion and nightlife than tennis.

Ouch - Genie broken without scoring a point. 4-4.
Three straight games for Peng. Not looking good - Genie's body language not good.
Nice service game - 5-5.

Never read the Facebook comments!
I understand some of the comments may have been hurtful but it seems like athletes these days have thin skin and can't handle of bit of criticism. The same thing is happening with her Aussie friend Nick Kyrgios who has called out some of the Australian media as "haters". No Nick they don't hate you they are just reporting on your stupid antics.
