They were saying he was very close to a return. I think an article this week said he was hoping for 4, 6, or 8 days.

Based on his tweet from yesterday, I think it is fair to asume that he could be back in action tonight when Portland plays Tri-City:

SvenBaertschi sven baertschi

Heat lose tonight 2-1. Only Heat goal was by Aliu (deflected off his skate) from Henry and Laing.

Bartschi gets 1 assist in his first game back in a 5-1 win over Tri-City. Wotherspoon had an assist as well.

It was the Winterhawks 17th straight home win.

Yay Bartschi's back! Good to see he's playing again, but only one assist? He's gonna be a bust for sure.

Article on Lauren Brossoit, Calgary is happy with the progress he has made.

Quote:
“It was pretty cool,” Brossoit said. “They just said they’re really happy with what I’m doing and to keep working. They contacted my goalie coach in Edmonton and just let them know what they wanted to see from me.

“They already see that I’m addressing those areas, so I’m more than happy to hear they’re happy with me.”

Reinhart with 3 assists in a 3-2 OT win over Regina
Ferland with a goal in a 6-4 win over Saskatoon
Brossoit makes 26 saves for the shutout in a 5-0 win over Prince George

I'd love to pick up all the Reinhart brothers... we're in a position to draft Griffin right now (I'd rather make the playoffs, however).

Braved the cold, and a dead car battery, and headed down to watch the Blades vs the Wheat Kings tonight to see Ferland. He's a good physical presence out there, and seemed a lot more poised with the puck than anyone else on his team (Stone seemed to be having an off game).

His goal was really nice, but he had all the time in the world out in front of the net by himself, was a great play by number 8 on Brandon actually to get him the puck, then Ferland made a nifty move to deke out the goalie. All-in-all I was very impressed with him, and by Olson on the Blades.

Leach also had an assist in Kooteney's 3-2 win.

I too braved the frigid temps to get a look at Ferland tonight. I liked his game. He was a physical presence right away and his goal was nice. That Wheat King team has some solid players up front.

true, that would be awesome. Sam intrigues me way more than Griffin though. Sam and Max are unreal together ... we'll see how Sam will do without Max next year, but 37 points in 39 games is darn impressive for a guy that just turned 16! I'd bet my behind that he'll be a top 5 pick when he's eligible in 2014.

Wow, no kidding that is impressive.

Let's collect all three and build a hotel.

Who knows what the Flames will be like next year. This coming off-season will definitely be a retooling stage, which may have some growing pains. So drafting Sam in the top 5 or top 10 may not be completely out of the question.

The Flames have seen a LOT of Griffin Reinhart this year, due to watching a LOT of Laurent Brossoit. I have to think they'd take him if he was available.

Michael Ferland had a 1 goal and 21 PIM as Brandon lost 3-2 in Saskatoon

Max Reinhart and Joey Leach both had assists as Kootenay lost 6-5 in a OT.

On that note, Ferland has now surpassed his goal total and point total from last season. Arnold has surpassed his goal total from last season and has met his point total from last season.

Everyone can watch Mitch Wahl and the Hamilton Bulldogs take on the Toronto Marlies right now in an outdoor game on Sportsnet. Pretty exciting so far. A goal and a fight within the first two minutes.

Was just looking for Wahl on the Bulldogs site, see if I could find a game by game break down........he's not listed on their roster anymore.

Then I brought up the Bulldogs stat page, and he was listed as not on the team anymore. (X - by his name)

What's the deal? Anyone know?

EDIT: Yeah, just looked at the game sheet, he's not dressed for the Bulldogs for this game.
