Wow, how very troll-ish of you, where do you live that you would have such a perspective?

Regarding Dakota Spicer says that it's 93% there and that Trump will negotiate a great deal to placate the native Americans.

Regarding the hiring freeze it doesn't exempt the VA, more than 40k unfilled jobs, Spicer spins it to "we need to hire smartly and efficiently".

Follow up on his (Trump's) 3-5 million fraudulent votes claim, "it would be the biggest scandal in American voting history. Doesn't he want to follow up then?" Nope. Nothing.

A lot of spin blaming Democrats for not confirming enough cabinet members right away. "Every minute someone isn't confirmed is a minute Democrats should have to answer for."

Let's be realistic here. Life expectancy for an oil pipe is around 30-35 years, natural gas up to 50, both under ideal circumstances. You can't get that lifespan out of water pipe. The viability also depends on the reserve and the market demand.

But that is here nor there, the world is moving away from a carbon economy to an electric economy. Other industrialized nations are miles ahead and the developing nations are pushing in that direction as well. Extracting energy from the hydrocarbon molecule is and will soon be pushed to a support technology rather than a driver. Those in the O&G industry remind me of those in the coal industry, who ignored the warning signs only to see their industry pretty much wiped out overnight. It's happening, get used to it. Diversify your economy into technologies which support the future and extend the viability of your dirty natural resource. The future is elsewhere. The pipeline is a symbol of this administration refusing to see the future and be a leader in that regard.

That's a cute thought, but surely you know better right? Israel controls US foreign policy in the Middle East, and this does nothing to change that.

It's a clown show.

If you want guys to be confirmed quickly then nominate people who can be confirmed quickly. It's not hard to figure out. But the real problem as I have read it is that the incoming administration is very far behind in putting forth their nominations compared to other transitions.

In all honesty, Trump and his cohorts are extremely lucky the likes of Rubio, McCain and company have absolutely zero backbone.

The longer this goes on, the more I expect the center republicans and center democrats to coalesce under a new democrat banner.

How much of it has been replaced and rebuilt? So? The problem with these things is you build them and wait for them to fail. That is why the protests are going on. No one wants an oil pipe on their lands waiting for it to fail. Not people who rely on their lands and their traditions are tied to the land. Another example of Trump being a moron. He believes he can just negotiate away their culture and their traditions. This protest has been going on for years. It ain't about negotiation. It's about NIMBY.

Im more referring to the Saudi side of the equation. The Saudis sponsor terrorism with immunity from US retaliation because they control the oil price. In an energy independent NA Saudi Arabia no longer is untouchable.

Saudi's are still pretty close to untouchable though. America needs their bases, plus those arms deals are worth a ####load of money to American manufacturers. Doubt this moves the needle very much.

Earlier in the conference he was crying that by comparison Obama had 12 cabinet members confirmed at the same point in his presidency. Surprisingly he didn't make any mention that the Trump administration forgot to get their ethics paperwork in for most of their nominees and that a lot of these delays are self inflicted wounds. More normalizing of lies (F alternative facts, call it what it is).

From what I heard it seemed maybe a few journos will try and hold this administration accountable but it feels unlikely.

Has anyone posted this yet? It's a hell of a documentary from the BBC from late last year.

Spoiler!

The transition from coal to oil started in WWI. As you can see from the graph, it's taking a while. The transition from oil to renewables is just starting (in earnest). It will also be a long journey. I support both transitions, but it won't be an overnight transition.
