Last year, he missed five weeks when he had a broken pinky. Hoping it is a lot less than that but I kind of doubt it.

I would think part of the issue with Romano tonight is he needs to pitch every number of days, so every once in a while you will see him in when not really needed.

So they can't fire Angel, we have to accept that. But why does he get home plate? Why are the assignments in baseball equal? They should have refs and base judges (like refs and linesman or refs and line judges or whatever). The guys good at calling balls and strikes should get that assignment more.

Jays will probably win 10 straight games, sweeping this 9 games against the feces of MLB, only to get swept in the 4 games vs Texas right after lol
Seriously though, it really sucks to get all these injuries right at crunch time when the schedule is easier on paper.

I don't understand why MLB just can't eat the cost of severance and fire the guy. I assume it's because it will set a precedence to others to be incompetent and get a package as well but man it affects the integrity of the game. Only thing I can think of is robo umps are on the way for balls and strikes.

Vladdy listlessly hits into an easy double player after two jays play well to get us two runners on in the first. Man, he's just not the same player.
Thankfully Merrifield hits a bloop single and scores springer.

Nice little 2 out rally and the Jays put up a crooked number in the 1st.

Vlads just not very good this year. Thankfully rest of the team picked him up for a four spot.

Wow, what a great inning. Vladdy almost cratered it into a 1 run inning, but everyone else came through. 4-0 is a nice cushion for Kikuchi

Varsho with a terrible “piece” of running there. I don’t give them credits for lucky hits. This team is annoying to watch.

They’ve also been unlucky too as shown by the difference between Vlads underlying numbers and on the field. Or times where Springer was hitting it hard just into gloves. I view that luck with babip tends to even out. For every undeserved hit there is a hard hit ball straight at a defender.

But that’s mlb for you. I don’t call that unlucky if it happens frequently. Something hasn’t been right with the approach all year. Hitting coach has to be looked at to start.
