guys why respond to him, he'll simply vanish next season when his team tumbles and goes into rebuild mark 82.
Let the Oilers do the banning for him.

Generational forward! Generational defence! Generational goaltending! What don't the Oilers have?
Not a question of 'if', but 'how many'!

Since this is a E=NG thread....
McDavid has never won any team related trophies....none with the Erie Otters and none obviously with the Oilers so far. In fact, he dissappeared for large periods of time last playoffs. Draisaitl and Talbot were the best players. But no worries....he has racked up plenty of individual awards.

Signing Gryba tipped the scales in the Oilers favour obviously.
Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie
Eric Gryba has agreed to terms with EDM on a two-year deal with an AAV of $900K.

oh, and swept the Flames, who continually seem to have a "great defense core"
but Mike Smith is the answer, cause 8th time is a charm

It's funny how the Oilers fans seem to not be able to admit that 99% of their success is because McDavid.
With McDavid + Talbot on the ice the Oilers get 53% of the possession, and 62% of the goals. Without McDavid on the ice but with Talbot still in goal that drops to 47.9% possession and 47.7% of the goals.
They are pretty much an elite team with him on the ice (Washington gets 62% of the goals as a team) and a lottery team when he is not on the ice (47.7% goal share puts them between Detroit & Los Angeles).
Compare that to a team like the Penguins.
With Murray + Crosby on the ice the Penguins get 53.2% of the possession, and 60.6% of the goals for, when it's just Murray on the ice they Penguins still get 61.2% of the goals but possession drops to 48.0%.
So from a goals for perspective the Penguins are just as good with or without Crosby on the ice for the most part.
Its the same thing with the Capitals and Nicklas Backstrom. With Holtby + Backstrom on the ice the Caps get 58.6% of the goals, and they get 50.6% of the possession. With just Holtby on the ice they get 61.5% of the goals and 51.9% of the possession.
So once again the Capitals are just as good with their top center on the ice, as they are when he is off the ice.
So until the Oilers can actually be somewhat of a good team in the 38 minutes of the game that McDavid is not on the ice they are not really to be listed as a truly elite team.
And doesn't matter if you are Klefbom, Draisaitl, etc your possession and goals for fall off a cliff when you aren't on the ice with McDavid.

^ To top up on those stats since people were harping on him about his playoff performance - he may not have been getting the points but McDavid was still driving the bus in the playoffs.
McDavid + Talbot: GF% - 52.9% CF% - 46.9%
Talbot Without McDavid: GF% - 42.3% CF% - 46.1%
So once McDavid was off the ice the Oilers struggled to stay above water in the playoffs.

Imagine being so upset at a rival fan base that you create an account on their forum to constantly defend your team for 9+ years, and then you go back to HF and laugh that a rival fan base has a thread dedicated to your team's ineptitude, like they are the ones with the inferiority complex.

I'm including forward cores as well
i'll take the Oilers under-27 (I'll include Hamonic) core over the Flames anyday of the week

But McDavid never wins anything....why are you ignoring this?
He hasn't won anything and will likely not win the Cup in Edmonton.

He won at the WJC and the WC. Scored the game winning goal at the Worlds.

Russell probably owes McDavid $1 million/season of that contract just for getting him within a tick of 50%. Small sample size but the Gryba w/wo McDavid numbers are pretty crazy.

I believe the Oilers said "8th time is a charm right" before the 2013-14 NHL season. Unfortunately for them, they missed the playoffs that year too. It turned out that it was the 11th time that was a charm for them, as they finally made the playoffs in 2016-17.

I like how they are losing their minds over there about McJesus and his apparent ask for $14 million and now his isn't worth it and he isn't "that" good. Two months ago he was a god and he hasn't been trying that hard and the Coilers were going to win 10 Straight Stanley Cups and the only reason they lost this year was because of the reffing. If they are paying Lucic $6 million I don't know how you can't pay Leon $8 and McJesus $14.

Holy Crap really?
Color me shocked
Edmonton under 27
RNH, McDavid, Strome, Kassian, Slepyshev, Cagigula, Pakarinen, Khaira, Draisaitl, Klefbom, Nurse, Benning
Calgary
Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, F Hamilton, Sam Bennett, Ferland, Lazar, Hamilton, Hamonic,
First of all, this goes right to the argument about Connor and not much else. Frankly outside of Connor and Draisaitl, that under 27 core is actually really unimpressive based on how many high, number 1 picks in the first round and each round after that.
Looking at that group, the Oilers high end is certainly very good with Draisaitl and McDavid, but outside of that, I would argue that Caglary's group is way more well rounded, and in terms of blueliners its not close at all.
The difference is really in terms of McDavid period stop end of story.
I also took out Brodie from the Calgary Group because he turned 27 three weeks ago. But you toss him into the mix and it looks even worse for the oilers.

I have my doubts that they're seriously saying that about McBurger, most Oiler fans that I've talked to are resigned to McDavid signing for 14 if they buy UFA years and that he's going to carry them to 5 straight cups.
