If you're going to get it broadcast I'd suggest a safe looking URL shortener.. By the time someone's attention is grabbed there's no way many would get there before the screen changes. Maybe cp could host a forwarding URL? Cp.com/vote.php seems pretty easy

Bonus points if you can get it on the official site.

Here's the shortened link: http://bit.ly/THhkHS

Actually, this one from goo.gl is shorter and all lower-case: http://goo.gl/ftbxt

Perfect, just figured something easier to enter while still looking trustworthy was the way to go.

Ok, time for a counter offensive. Let's see how close this race is in the morning. Right now, we are about 1820 behind...

For reference, Johnny at 11150, enemy is at 12971.

Why is everyone so sure Johnny's going to win? How is it a sure thing?

Or why does everyone think the fans decide the winner, from what I was told fans decide the top 6 or 8 and a panel decides the ultimate winner.

I am going to guess that StrykerSteve is not an Okotoks Oilers fan?

No idea, never seen them. Very new to town.

On-topic, voted twice more.

You will be fighting an uphill battle in that town, I am going to guess that 95% of the town is voting for Knight. He is the best hockey player to ever play for the Oilers.

Bump, this belongs on page 1.

I have been voting 4 times a day since day 1, but I really have no idea if they have all counted. For example, the first thing I do every morning when i get to work is vote from my office, then turn on my BB and vote again. Since my computers and BB's e-mails are linked does that mean that they see the votes as coming from the same place and dont count the second vote?

Then when I go home, I have 2 computers at home that share the same wireless router, so I vote on them. Same question, do you think it counts both votes at home?

Regardless, I am carrying on with this ritual until the polls close.

Notice how the votes for Knight really took off after this was posted at HF?

I don't think there is much hope now.

Yah, lots of Flame haters on there, so not surprised. Good thing this pool doesn't actually affect the outcome that much.

Believe it or not, Corban Knight's college hockey team, in little old North Dakota, has a huge and dedicated following. Even, by Canadian standards.

Here, maybe this will help some people that are still confused.
Quote:
With the NHL lockout, UND has become the most followed hockey team in North America.

UND is averaging 11,730 fans per game this season — slightly more than 100 percent capacity at Ralph Engelstad Arena — which beats out the top-drawing teams from the American Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League, the Central Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League and the Western Hockey League, among others.

According to Herald research, only three teams worldwide are currently drawing more fans per game than UND — SC Bern (Switzerland), Eisbaren Berlin (Germany) and Kolner Haie (Germany). John Taveres, the New York Islander and No. 1 overall pick three years ago, is playing for Bern. Philadelphia Flyers stars Danny Briere and Claude Giroux are playing for Berlin.

(p.s. Of course, the fan voting doesn't really matter for who is nominated and who wins the award , but it shows our appreciation for Corban and his years at UND. And he deserves consideration for the award, without a doubt)
