It was a damned if you, damned if you don’t wager. He had to cover Yogesh wagering it all which was also the same amount that would cost him the loss to Ben.
He could have wagered for a tie but that’s also a risk.

These three are so good... the skill level is incredible
It just so happened that Ben had the bare minimum needed to beat Troy's cover wager on Yogesh. Crazy. If Ben had $1 less, Troy would be in the driver's seat instead.
I like that Ben is the only one of the three who isn't a world quizzing champion, he's shown that he's at their level.

Jeopardy! acknowledged the show had stepped on a rake when it made a "rare mistake" about The Simpsons.
Bill Oakley, one of the writers on Fox's animated series, The Simpsons, corrected the popular TV quiz show when it misspelled one of his characters' names.
On Wednesday's show, the clue was: "Robert Underdunk Terwilliger is the real name of this vengeful 'Simpsons' character."
The correct way to respond was, "Who is Sideshow Bob?" but there was one glaring error in the clue.
The right way to spell his middle name is "Onderdonk," and Oakley was sure to correct the Jeopardy! team.
"Yes @Jeopardy you made a rare mistake. It's 'Onderdonk'. And @Joshstrangehill and I are certain cause we wrote that script. Cc:@KenJennings," Oakley wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Crazy that Ben hit every FJ 6/6 but was never in the lead in any game. Troy led 4/6 and only won game 2 in a runaway.

I don’t think they should’ve invited anyone from the previous masters back to this invitational tournament. It feels almost unfair.

That's the plan every year. The bottom 3 finishers from the Masters will get relegated to the JIT for a chance for just one of them to get back. They are almost turning Jeopardy into two shows, Regular Jeopardy and League Jeopardy.
Masters every year will be, the top 3 from the previous year (James, Matt, Mattea), TOC Champ (Yogesh), JIT Champ (?), Producer's pick (?).

I am the only who is tired of these tournaments? It's been the same faces all season and I just want to go back to seeing new faces again.

I’m definitely tired of some of the same people. I like Austin so it was cool to see him again. But Amy and the other masters I’m good. We’ve seen them non stop it seems like.

I like them but it's been too stacked up (because of the writer's strike I suppose). I really enjoy seeing these folks back, and best on best competitions. When it's good - it's awesome.
But I miss regular Jeopardy. If there was more of an alternating rhythm it would be better.

This is pretty much my take as well.
I like to play along, but when its the Masters Tournaments I'm more of a spectator.

Yes, I think in future the goal is to have more an alternating rhythm, like 75 days of tournaments and 150 days of normal jeopardy each season

I really don’t remember when the last time I’ve seen a 3rd place contestant win it in Final Jeopardy
Great match.

Madden should have bet it all on the last DD. Betting 5000 made no difference but previous generation players seem conservative.

And though it didn’t matter it was a dumb bet by the person in third. When you have two people nearly tied you do a small wager in case they both bet big and get it wrong
Betting it all yourself is dumb
That being said…fantastic game

Never posted in this thread but wife and I watch nightly. When Victoria went all in on that daily double, I thought it was a done deal. That run Amy had was impressive. I was live-calculating the how much she needed to stay in it and thought it was over when she got that 3rd last question wrong but she pulled a rabbit out and stole the show.
This was a fun one to watch.
