We're going to have to play allot worse than this to catch Edmonton for #1 overall.

The good thing about rebuilding is that we don't have to feel bad about loses.

How does Feaster sit there with our GAA and not look to make a change defensively... we are 30th in the league for goals against. I don't even have to check, I can just feel it.

It really isn't the end of the world. It's one game, in one season of a rebuilding year, with a 20-something player that has a long career ahead of him. If being sat for one game before the quarter mark is going to so horribly crush his confidence to the point that his development is completely stifled then I'm not sure that is really the kind of player the organization would want going forward anyway.
And this shouldn't need to be said, but I don't think that at all.
|
I still wish they would have sat Glencross, it kind of sends the wrong message to the team. Agreed I think Baertschi will be fine I think the coach feels there is another level of potential in Baertschi.

I'm not suggesting he sell our blue chip assets. But trade a 2nd round for someone worth putting on the ice sheet, this is ouch!

You're one of the most condescending posters on this board and that truly is saying something.
You can call it an overreaction if you want. But at the end of the day it's tough to argue that it's a horrific decision.
Maybe that's why you're resorting to horsecrap replies.

No...my replies are quite simple...you havent any idea why Hartley and crew made a decision to sit a 20 year old kid...you arent around them enough to know.
I thought Baerstchi was horrendous in the last game, so when i heard he was scratched, i wasnt all that surprised. I am surprised others havent received the same treatment, but i dont know the dynamics of that room nor what their practice habits and a myriad of other intangibles that went into the decision are. BUt i am smart enough to KNOW I DONT KNOW...and more than willing to admit it.
Then you make a completely outrageous claim that the kid wants to be traded over it...is so stupid it deserves a condescending answer.
You can have any goofy opinion you like, but expect it to be smashed to pieces if it has zero basis. Thats how this place works and always has. Deal with it.

Now imagine if we didn't pick up Russell or Galiardi or Colborne!

Only 3 playing tonight.
With Stajan, Cammalleri and Jones back we're still icing a veteran team, rebuild or not.

Wow, if that's what happens when you supposedly take out your worst defensive player in Baerchi, he'll be the top plus/minus player in a few more games like that. There was no creativity at all. Hudler is our best creative forward without Baerchi in the lineup. I suppose the Flames coaching staff think Sven should be a selke trophy nominee before getting credit for defense. I saw Sven many times back checking and rarely giving up the puck at inopportune times. Reminds me of the same old Flames management, breaking up good lines to get Iginla going, well now they just do it to send a message. Our best forward line "was" Hudler, Monahan, and Baerchi. Now we're screwing with the chemistry.
