Are the books completely written this time? GoT was great until they ran out of existing material.

Yes. It was a trilogy.

Liu wrote the original trilogy, and then a fan wrote a fanfic that Liu canonized as the fourth book.

^not a bad little show but it was always just missing the mark a bit. Everytime I was getting into it something dumb would jar me out of it. Still hoping the make another season though. haha.

It remained a trilogy. It was just increasingly inaccurately named as such.

Not super excited about that. They did a good job of GoT in the early seasons, but 3BP is a totally different kind of thing. They seemed to lean more into action and less cerebral content in the later GoT seasons when it was all up to them, so I don't see these as the right guys to capture the essence of 3BP. I'll give it a chance anyways, but would have felt more excited had they gone with someone else.

Just started watching. I am literally on episode 1. Not too bad so far. Nice to have different takes on adapting these books.

On another note, the advertisements aren't as distracting as I expected, although I've only watched a few series so far. I expect it would be disruptive in a feature-length film, however.

What is the commercial count like? Is it a couple in the middle or stacked at the beginning?

In a 30 minute show you'll see anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute of ads. Typically it's about halfway through the show.

Extraction 2 is better than I thought it would be. I know I saw the original Extraction but don't remember a minute of it (even after watching the trailer) but part 2 is better- some great action sequences and even passable writing

It is a page by page adaptation of the books, except for one part that was omitted.

Curious what everyone has thought of the latest Black Mirror, particularly Beyond the Sea? Im sure that has generated the most buzz- and really should have been the feature film they released, as opposed to that weird choose your own adventure. Aaron Paul has become an exceptional actor.
