There might be some fine wrestling involved, but every match is predictable, and most are just thrown together with no storyline backing them. Why bother watching if the booking basically comes to pulling names out two hats (jobbers and non-jobbers)?
Here's Raw's card from Monday:

Ivy Nile vs. Valhalla
Dom Mysterio vs. Miz
Ivar vs. Gable
Baszler and Stark vs. LeRae and Hartwell
Drew vs. Priest

Which of those were really up in the air based on recent storylines?

3/5 could have gone either way.

All the matches on Dynamite ended up exactly as expected. Sorry, but at least in this case WWE wasn't nearly as predictable. Usually they release the card prior to the show. Let's see if you can predict each match on Raw.

Why do these companies try to compete with WWE.

WCW had a good 2 year run before they got smoked. Nothing has or will ever come close.

WCW was only good because they signed all of the stars Vince made.

Disagree. Sting, DDP, Goldberg, The Giant, Raven, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio Jr. and others were there as originals, and were huge parts of WCW's success at the time.

One could also make the case that WWE was good because they signed WCW castoffs, including The Undertaker, Triple H, Mankind, Steve Austin, Edge, etc.

I mean I went 5/5 this past Monday, and I'm not someone who regularly watches WWE.

Outside of Sting and Goldberg is anyone you listed an actual star who drew ratings?

Didn't Raven, Benoit, Mysterio come from ECW?

All those guys you listed became stars in WWE, and would have been bums in the WCW.

WCW only took off for that time period when they capitalized off Hogan, Nash and Hall.

Flair, DDP, and Booker T weren't draws? Mysterio was absolutely a star in WCW. They booked him terribly, but he made his name there.

What? You're moving the goalposts. You said the ratings guys in WCW were former WWF guys?

Hogan, Nash, and Hall were big parts of their success, yes, but you don't get those ratings if it wasn't NWO vs. WCW, which had Flair, Sting, DDP, Giant, Jericho, Booker T, etc.

Your revisionist history is quite something.

I never really watched WCW until those guys went over to be fair. So I don't know much about the history of Sting and Flair. I never thought DDP was a star at anytime.

Also Flair might be the most overrated wrestler ever. He did nothing unique, the same match every single time.

Booker T only became good when the company was going down the toilet though no? Before that he was on a tag team.

Flair might be overrated, but he was a ratings magnet. DDP was absolutely a star for WCW, especially after he feigned joining the NWO only to give Scott Hall a Diamond Cutter and take the shirt off. That was his star-making moment.

WWE guys were important to that success, but there were a TON of WWE guys who floundered in WCW, and the ratings war was what is was in large part because of true, blue WCW guys having top spots.

Booker T became good when he was in the US Title scene during the heyday, which also included Chris Benoit, Raven, Fit Finlay, etc. It wasn't until the later WCW days he was pushed to main event status. But Harlem Heat was a draw and true WCW original as well.

One could even argue Eric Bischoff himself was a big part of that success bot on and off-screen. Just like JR was a big, big part of WWF's success both on and off screen.

In March 2020, McMahon began sharing sexually explicit photographs and videos of Grant with other men, including other WWE executives and a former UFC heavyweight champion with whom WWE was actively trying to sign to a new contract, according to the suit. In a May 2020 encounter, McMahon defecated on her head during a threesome, the suit said.
Quote:
That December, McMahon gave Grant’s personal cellphone number to the WWE star, the lawsuit said. The wrestler asked her to send a video of herself urinating, the suit said, and after she did, he called her a “b—.” That same month, the suit said, the star expressed a desire to “set a play date,” but a snowstorm disrupted his travel plans.

Just disgusting stuff here and the whole lawsuit document is out there if you want to see how sick Vince (and apparently Brock Lesnar) are.

Vince thinking he can relive the 80's in the 2020's but use his boatloads of money as a legal shield.

What a vile, vile human being. And what a disastrous end to an otherwise crazy legacy in pro wrestling and pop culture.

Just read some of the material from the Vince suit, and it's absolutely horrifying. Don't give this company another dime of your money until they completely rid themselves of this monster.

And this is why TKO went back on their word of keeping Vince in charge after buying the company and immediately began the process of pushing him out.

Even if what she is saying is sensationalized (I have no doubt the core of the accusation is true), that this was there to come out at all made Vince a ticking bomb who could have zero control or power when he detonated.

Vince being on the way out the door started the moment TKO took the keys. This will be the excuse they need to push him out fully, true or not.

Brock Lesnar should never be allowed on WWE TV ever again, too.

If it's true, yes. We just went through this with Jericho. Wait for facts before condemning. The only reason I am willing to pillory Vince is that he's Vince.

Absolutely reprehensible. Yeah they should think twice about bringing back Brock as well. He's no longer really needed anyway. It's pretty disgusting to know how common these kind of acts are. It's unfortunate there were never any criminal actions taken against Vince, Laurinaitis, and whoever else was involved. A really bad look.

It's a little bit different than Jericho. She actually has the receipts.

Also, if it comes out that Paul and Nick knew anything about this stuff, they should be gone, too.
