If Calgary is a "Plan B" then I would think the money is better in Edmonton.

“I know last year I had a tough year, probably the toughest of my career,” Iginla said. “I look at it as fuel. I think I can bounce back and score goals and help a team in different areas.
“I still love competing and battling and fighting in the hard areas.”

Who doesn't want this guy for $1.5 mln? Come on.

No idea if the Oilers were plan A, just know he has interest in playing with them. Flames have been delaying.

Maybe Iginla is Plan B to the Flames? Any chance they are looking at Jagr as Plan A?

Taking a while to get to 5000

Flames have to delay to get the RFA signings done. Makes sense.

I think after Bennett signs his bridge, then things will start moving very quickly on the Flames end.
There was absolutely no way that Treliving was going to commit dollars to Iginla when he still had Ferland, Lazar, and Bennett to re-ink. The first two are done. When Bennett signs, Tre and Iginla's camp should have a very good idea on what kind of salary the Flames are able to accommodate and so they can have an offer ready to put on the table for him.

I still don't think this is going to happen. Burke has said repeatedly that Iginla doesn't want to come back. It makes sense. So much baggage. If Fisher is done in Nashville, then that might be a fit.
That said, he's not going to have many options, and this just might be his best one.

Then the Flames could upgrade their anthem singer from George Canyon to Carrie Underwood!

Well Sharp was Plan A. It would surprise me if Iginla weren't the focus right now even if Jagr is in the mix.

If signing Fisher means Underwood would sign with the Flames as anthem singer for a year, I'd say, Tre, please sign Fisher right now

his real fan base? the one that wishes he was retired so they could stop telling everyone how bad he is and how his selfishness ruined the team while he was here?
for every poster here who still likes iggy there is someone else who is "over him".

I have seen this posted a few times. Is there a link to these comments made by Burke? Not that I set much confidence in anything he says; Burke last year was quite insistent that Brandon Bollig needed and would receive more ice time.

He didn't say it at the one I attended. Is there someone that was actually at the others that can verify it was said?
