I doubt it. If the Germans get a couple, I expect them to keep the ball and focus on saving energy.

No kidding. What was he thinking there?

This is a pretty easy game to watch.
Either my favourite team advances, or we see the biggest upset of these games by a rather likable team.
Go Desert Foxes, go Die Mannschaft! Play ball

Good keeper but a bit suspect on corners.

Germany needs to stop trying to be so fancy with the ball.

Algeria actually looks ok to start. Hope they can keep it up.

Germans don't look ready for this game. Algeria doing exactly what everyone thought they would: put guys behind the ball and try for the hail mary.
German passing has been awful and defending has been suspect too.

Oh well. You have one of the best right-backs of the world and way too many good midfielders. What do you do? Put said right back in the midfield and a guy who wasn't even planned to be there into the defense.

Hummels not playing also weakens that defense. Hopefully they get it together for the second half

Germany has been kind of a mess. Partly odd coaching choices, but also a few players have been just terrible. Özil has been all over the place, Boateng had huge trouble with simple passing plays...
Still, I expect them to find a higher level on the next half. And kudos to Algeria, they were genuinely dangerous and made it difficult for Germany to play their game.

Germany taking over in the last 10 minutes. Wonder how long they can keep this up, the pace in this game has been pretty crazy.
