Wow, the conditions are just going to get tougher through the weekend too. Tiger is going to be stepping into some insanely fast conditions by the afternoon. I think he would be ecstatic with even par.

What will the lead be at tonight?

I predict +1.

Im sure it will be someone from the morning wave- possibly Mcdowell. He is sitting pretty if he can hold -1 or -2.

My guess is Thompson is in for a rude awakening.

McDowell has holes 1-6 coming up... if he survives that, he's in good shape.

With par 5s at 16 and 17, it could make for a very exciting finish come Sunday. And I'll predict -1 as the lead with McDowell looking like the prime candidate to end up there.

16 is not a typical par 5 where you look for birdie or gaining strokes. Just survive and try and get that birdie on 17. Hole 16 is 670 yards and there were only 6 birdies yesterdays, 79 pars, 52 bogies and 19 worse

yup, mcdowell already made a bogey on #1. Anyone know if they moved up the tees on 16 today?

Thats what could make it so fun on Sunday. 16 alone could make for a 2 or more shot swing. In theory someone could have a 4 shot lead going into 16 and come out tied or behind after 17.

Mcilroy and Donald missed cut. Westwood at +4 and will need a great weekend to have a chance.

Jim Furyk sets the pace, finishing at -1. McDowell gives a few back and finishes a +1.

Yikes...they just showed a stat that the 1st 6 holes have played 616 over par.

Stunning.

great putt for tiger! Those tricky 5-10 footers for par are what will make or break tiger this week i think.

Easily the toughest US Open venue since Oakmont. This is what the USGA wants, not what we saw last year.

And just like that, Tiger takes the lead! Will he stay there for the rest of the weekend?

Cut currently looking like +5 or +6. Be interesting to see if Phil, Bubba and some of the others can find a way under the line.

True, but Bubba and Phil still need to play their 2nd round. Neither of their games look even close to competitive.
