I would say Miromanov, some might argue Pachal, but that's about it.

I know you're point is that he will blossom, and I agree with you.
Yes more that. This is a guy with <50 NHL games that almost none of us, despite being pretty hard core NHL fans, didn't know anything about.
So what is he? Can he be a second pairing, PP dman that puts up 30-40 points?

I think the 'put up 30-40 points' part is almost a given for him, if he plays a full season.

PP D-man? That will be interesting, because he has to beat out Andersson and Weegar, with new candidates (Brzustewicz, Poirier, potential draft pick) coming soon.

2nd pairing? That's the key one, IMO. I think he will (for now). I think on a good team with a full core of defensemen, that he probably slots better as a good #5, like Zadorov.

Well with the Flames he's just shy of a 30 point pace, with a lot of opportunity. I think he will be, but I don't think it's certain at all. The biggest thing that would hurt his chances is if the Flames go and sign a guy like Barrie.

Yes, and it seems almost a certainty that they will sign someone, to shore up the core. And then we'll see if Miromanov can climb over them or not.

I think Hunter B and Wolf will pop at the NHL level next year.

Honorable mention to Coronato.

Rooney with a full year (hopefully) healthy and plenty of opportunity with the lack of C depth. I think he has been decent this year, but not much production.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Pelletier.

The injury really derailed his year and I think he's got it in him to be an effective third liner. I'm optimistic that he can be a 35-40 point guy who plays on the pk. Such a smart player and with another strong summer of training he'll establish himself next season.

If he gets a spot on Backlund's line maybe.
