1) He was my favorite Flame for a long time.
2) Not that it's any of your business but over the last 20 years I've voted Conservative, NDP and Liberal at different times. So ....yeah. You're barking up the wrong tree on that one.
Theo has become a mentally unwell man who spouts lies and conspiracy theories. It's dangerous and sad. I really hope he can get well somehow but I think that ship has sailed.

Voted for the NDP for the first time last election and have never voted Liberal in my life. I gave Theo a 1 so try again.
This has nothing to do with disliking those with a different political view and more about not disliking someone who has clearly shown they are human garbage.
In fact if you are claiming that as a UCP/Conservative voter you put party above human decency that shows what an awful person you are.

I have voted for NDP, Liberal and PC over the years. The world is not as binary as you seem to think it is.
|
I'm pretty we all know that he's been treated way worse than most of us could ever imagine. Yet, the people who criticize him fail to realize that everyone has different upbringings, different issues and problems in our lives, and we all deal with these in our own way. Nobody is perfect. Is he a little too far right leaning and says crazy stuff? Yeah. Does he spread dangerous falsehoods? of course...but who hasn't? The mainstream media and our government do it regularly, yet they barely get criticized for it.
I guess you must be one of the few that's never told a lie or ever messed up. You truly must be one of kind.

No one here fails to recognize that.

A lot of people are able to restrain themselves from being toxic ####heads. It isn't a unique trait, despite their varied upbringings. See: Sheldon Kennedy.
And when the mainstream media starts spreading disinformation on vaccines and citing their honorary degrees from Brandon University as a qualification you can start tossing around your whataboutisms with disregard.

BS
Nobody is complaining because he lied once, made a mistake or struggled dealing with the horrible things that happened in his past. But at the same time he doesn't get a free pass for everything because of the horrible things that happened to him.
If you were to talk about Fleury through his NHL career, with all the drug and alcohol issues he had I would imagine the vast majority of people would be very understanding and sympathetic to those struggles.
The damaging lies he spreads, the hatred he supports is not due to the horrible things that happened to him. He doesn't get a pass for the absolutely horrible things he tweets, the conspiracy theories he supports.
People can sympathize with the horrible things that happened to him while also criticizing the decisions he has made post-career.

What are the lies and hatred that he spreads?
Came for the poll. Left with political commentary. Not sure how that happens.

Because Mr. Hot Topic was included in the OP's list and he subsequently became the hot topic.
Thank you for contributing to something you're so flabbergasted having experienced, as you always seem to manage.

- Jonathan Huberdeau-9. It would have been a 10 but last year bummed me out a little. I've always been a huge fan of his, but I will admit my bias comes from watching him in Florida
- Nazem Kadri-6. I've always been a moderate fan of his, but last year when he gave up down the stretch really soured me on him.
- Jacob Markstrom-7. He gets too much crap at times. He's a solid starting goalie who had a bad year.
- Rasmus Andersson-8. A secondary leader on this team. Love his heart and talent. Not an elite player, but a really, really, really good one.
- Mackenzie Weegar-8. Always liked the player, but never really in love with him.
- Lanny McDonald-...does this thing go to 11?
- Theo Fleury-Ask me this in the 90's and he's an alltime franchise player who bravely overcame abuse. Ask me now and he's a lunatic conspiracy guy with very little intelligence. Let's split the difference and say 5.
- Johnny Gaudreau-9. I don't care how he left, it was his right. One of the most dynamic playmakers and purely skilled players I've ever seen in a Flames uniform...possibly the most talented ever. Just a joy to watch play the game.
- Matthew Tkachuk-10. And if you have to ask why you haven't been paying attention.
Honest question, is someone going to tally up the average score for each player at the end of this?
