Right before the Swiss went up and scored the Ecuador player should have burst the net. If you're going to push everyone forward while drawing you better not get caught on a counter attack, and they did

Also if you are going to tackle someone make sure he doesn't get back up and play advantage

He probably thought he sacrificed himself to kill the guy and stop the attack. Ref will blow it down and give him a yellow card and it'll be a draw. Cause if roles were reversed he would have rolled around and died.

Credit to the Swiss guy for getting up and credit to the ref for recognizing that and playing advantage.

Kinda looked like the corner the swiss scored on went out before coming back in, but I don't think it did.

I think the non-dive was a lot more effective because everyone expects the dive.

Yeah you rarely, if ever, see an advantage like that played when the guy actually falls down.

Great call by the ref and the Swiss player and Ecuador was caught off guard.

Hard to really fault them for that since 99 times out of 100 that play is whistled down.

watching this feature i'm amazed how Favellas are built.

One thing I wonder, how do property rights work in there? Do you grab some scrap metal and fashion a new house out of a square of empty space? Does a realtor show you vacant spots when you are looking to buy? I realize the realtor thing is a bit much, but I'm actually seriously wondering.

To my knowledge. They are basically squatters, run by gangs etc with no government involvement... Although that is starting to change in some.

They may pay gangs for land or something

No. I like France. Great country and wonderful funny people once you get outside of Paris.

I have nothing against France, unless we're talking about football.

Then again, I mostly hated that championship squad, and with Ribery out, it's mostly just residual dislike. So pretty much all the same to me.

I hope they score four to keep the goals back at 3,5 per game

Pogba's very lucky the ref is nice. Ref must have felt the Honduran stepped on him first so two yellows.

Beckham was sent off for far less against Argentina in 98.

Out of curiosity, for all you Canadians out there, who do you decide who to root for in a World Cup?
