I can't see him being a healthy scratch, he's been playing pretty good so far IMO.

Would prefer to see Galliardi on the fourth line with Bouma out. We'll see how it goes.
See you all in 500 replies.

From what Roger was saying, sounds like that's not the coaching staffs opinion.

This may be pure speculation..but my guess is #Flames coaching staff needs much more from Baertschi. Is the bloom really off the rose?

I would hope that's because of a minor injury and therefore precautionary reasons. If it's for his on-ice performance, I'll be seriously pissed that he'll have to sit one out while Jackman of all people draws into the lineup and Glencross can do whatever he wants without being punished for it.

Ridiculous. I have been watching Baertschi closely since Burke had his hissy fit and he back checks as much if not more than most Flames forwards.

I would wait for more confirmation before freaking out. When rmillions says 'This may be pure speculation...', what he really means is 'I'm totally making stuff up to get more twitter followers'.

Baertschi's been a passenger on the Monahan line for a couple games now. If he was a vet he would have been getting some flack instead he's getting the "he's been the defensive anchor on that line" which hasn't been the case.
I would have liked to see him "demoted" to a different line but he has also didn't have great chemistry with Backlund last game either. Still would prefer Hartley give some of the young players some leeway like he does with the vets (Glencross), but that hasn't been the case since Hartley arrived in Calgary. Disappointing, but not exactly surprising if he is a healthy scratch.

Bart hasn't been solid gold, but jesus, he's been miles better than both Glencross and Jackman. How does this make any sense? I'm not sure, but I'd hate to be Baertschi:
*Plays great offensive game*
"Hey that's great! We love it!"
*Plays poorly in preseason*
"You know, we just realised, you should be a 200ft player, and you aren't, so could you do that?"
*Backchecks hard for first 9 games, doesn't put up same points, but uses small body as best he can*
"Sorry, we're going to scratch you, you're not playing very well."
Now, could be that it ISNT exactly like that, but really, the kid has done what has been asked of him, and done it fairly well.
My biggest problem:
With Galiardi on the 4th line, you can play that line in multiple situations, with a bit heavier minutes. Gali-ColboUrne-Bouma is a solid "energy" line. With either Jackman or Grats there, you severely limit the amount you can play that line as-is, they're both moderate-severe liabilities.

Dallas is pretty solid on FOs with the exception of Seguin, so it's good to have Stajan back for them.

Baertschi a healthy scratch is a questionable decision to say the least IMO. Not sure why Jackman plays over MacGrattan, or anyone for that matter.
Cammalleri-Monahan-Hudler
Baertschi-Stajan-Stempniak
Glencross-Backlund-Jones
Galiardi-Colborne-Bouma/MacGrattan
Those are the lines I'd LOVE to see.

I think Bärtschi has been good at moving the puck. The issue must be somewhere else. In terms of creating offense, compared to Jiri "Elven MVP" Hudler, everyone has been a passenger.

I just don't understand what kind of message it sends when, after you criticize Baertschi during preseason, and he responds with solid two-way play, and then you sit him after he did everything right.
Trades need to happen very soon. Can't let Ward get his hands on Baertschi.

Don't agree with scratching Sven when you've got a guy like Jackman in the lineup, but what are you gonna do I guess. I understand they fill a different role, but I'd still dress Sven over Jackman and shuffle some of the other lines around to make it work. Hell, you could probably dress Sven instead of Butler and have him play defense....he couldn't possibly be any worse back there.
