Did Amato change owners a few years back? I went in years ago and it was soccer on TV and friendly Italian guys lounging around. Then went back and it was different, really grouchy guy and a “buy and get out” feel.
I avoid Amato all costs now. Take the kids to Lics or Village.
Not food and entertainment related but I was driving down 10th this morning and looked like a police investigation, 10th was closed with police tape between 2nd and 3rd.

New owners took over yesterday, and more stock arriving tomorrow. Very friendly Asian family running the shop now, and handing out big servings. They are hiring too. I wish them well along with Marcus.
Looking at the city's cannabis store application map it appears that the former LOT 102 site has been approved. Pity they won't use the POT 102 name I suggested.
Also looks like the smoke shop by Flip'n Burgers got approved. New Leaf next to Meraki was refused, as was the Osteria application (haha!).

Walking around here today would suggest that some of these places managed to open early!

I’m glad the smoke shop was one of the approved as it’s a similar use already operating and actually improves the street as they’re changing the name and branding to something better and more current than Smoker’s Corner.
It will be interesting to see if “Pot 102” can last longer than any of the restaurants that have been there. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to save some money and just buy a P.

Assuming you mean the block between 5th Ave/Kensington Road and 14th/10th then there are five (Kensington Wine Market, Vine Styles, Liquor Cellar, Spirits of Kensington, Cap Liquor).
