Do you think Canada should be funding UNRWA knowing where the money is going?
I quoted from your citation.
Funding should not have been suspended based on zero evidence.
Do you think the funding should continue to be withheld based on nothing more than allegations knowing that to do so will expedite the death by starvation and disease of thousands?
Is this guy for real? He then proceeds to quote a 2019 article that brought up issues of sexual misconduct and providing jobs to family members as the crux of stopping financial support? You cannot make this stuff up!
He is for real, unfortunately. He does this on every topic.
Whenever there’s anything he can’t refute he just plays dumb, gives non answers, and tries to change the subject. That’s why 90% of his posts on here are “but Hamas” any time there’s criticism of Israel or discussion on how things could be done better, why he gives non-answers like “math” and “I’m confident” when asked for actual evidence of the things he makes up, and why he immediately went to bringing up something from 10+ years ago.
You can’t take him seriously and you’ll never get anywhere because he’s something like a 50 year old internet troll, which is impossibly sad.
Okay, Hamas is bad. We already know this? What is the point in sharing this? Sometimes I feel like you radical Israel supporters share these types of pieces just to justify the killing of thousands of Palestinians. Because they have been raised to hate Jews it makes Israel's current campaign justified? Just because someone doesn't like you does not give you a right to kill them.
I post it because I think it's relative. You don't...good for you. Others do.
While Israel no doubt wants UNRWA replaced with another agency after the war is over, it doesn’t appear that Israel actually wanted all funding pulled at this exact moment, for its own interests obviously.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government does not support the immediate discontinuation of UNRWA, a senior Israeli official said on Tuesday as a host of Western countries moved to suspend funding for the UN relief agency for Palestinians amid allegations that roughly a dozen of its employees took part in Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught and hundreds more are either operatives or have close ties with members.
If UNRWA ceases operating on the ground, this could cause a humanitarian catastrophe that would force Israel to halt its fighting against Hamas,” the senior Israeli official said, briefing The Times of Israel on condition of anonymity. “This would not be in Israel’s interest and it would not be in the interest of Israel’s allies either.”
Regarding all the countries pulling funding immediately, I’m sure there is more behind the scenes that we don’t know about. I’ve never seen a situation where funding from an organization has been pulled so swiftly by so many countries. You have to be naive to think this all happened based on “hearsay” or some one-pager that Israel provided.
These are very serious accusations. It doesn’t matter how large of an organization UNRWA is. If any other organization was accused of harboring terrorists that went on a murderous rampage, you can be sure the reaction would be equally as swift. This isn’t some sort of white collar crime accusation being committed by a secretary.
Only the ones that join or support Hamas. Nice try though!
Quote:
Children, who make up nearly half of Gaza's population of 2.3 million, have had their lives shattered by the brutal war.
Although Israel says it strives to avoid civilian casualties, including issuing evacuation orders, more than 11,500 under-18s have been killed according to Palestinian health officials. Even more have injuries, many of them life-changing.
As an aside, it's interesting that Gaza has doubled it's population through birthrate alone in the last 18 years. That is statistically pretty remarkable.

It always amazes me that the poorest countries that get the most financial aid pop out kids like candy from a Pez dispenser.

Really? Usually it’s a matter of lack of education, lack of health care, lack of women’s rights and cultural opposition to birth control. Why does it surprise you?

I’m sorry if you are sad.
But hey, I’m under 50! Haha
So, do you think Canada should have cut funding to UNRWA?
