WASHINGTON—In the wake of this morning’s mass shooting in Alexandria, VA, every single American from across the political spectrum was reportedly able to cite the tragedy as irrefutable proof that they had been right about everything all along.
“I’ve always said gun control puts our citizens at risk and makes them sitting ducks for any criminal who doesn’t play by the rules, and today, sadly, all my fears were confirmed,” said conservative Paula Frazier of Willoughby, OH, one of the hundreds of millions of Americans who said it gave them no pleasure at all to have their long-held beliefs so thoroughly validated.
Added liberal Marc Watson of Savannah, GA: “When any unhinged maniac can just waltz into a store or gun show and buy a weapon specifically designed for mass casualties, this is unfortunately what happens—exactly like I’ve said from the very beginning.”
At press time, every American was dejected at the thought of how soon they would be proven absolutely right once again.

Not trying to over react to the shooting this morning, but its something I have wondered (with concern) about over the past 15 years or so as the divide between the right and left and rich and poor seems to be growing at an alarming pace.
Issues that should (IMO) have been sorted out through the democratic process long ago are still major issues in the U.S and have been for decades (see abortion, gun control, basic taxation principles, gay rights, etc.) For example, political platforms are still being formed around abortion rights, a major issue more than 30 years ago for campaigns.
I just don't see the U.S coming to any resolution on these issues at all and the political environment seems to be getting more partisan and more heated. The Sessions hearing yesterday was completely one sided in regards to questioning, with the democrats asking questions, and the republican members trying to make statements so that Sessions didn't have to. It was a complete farce.
I really do wonder if they are headed down a path of more citizen on citizen violence based on political ideologies....much like what we saw today. Scary times.

And the blame game begins. You just knew people were gonna politicize the s--t out of this as soon as it happened. America is at war with itself. Pretty sad how insanely divided they've become.

The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.
The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

Yeah, this is really a whole lot of anticipation for something that's pretty unlikely to happen.
All it's going to do is further prove what we already know and other things that we assume to know. One of those things is that there will be no repercussions for any of this for anyone that matters.

Republicans should be defending the shooter. He used his right to bear arms for the purpose it was intended... to resist tyrannical government.
Working as intended.... no?
Could this work in court?
You could say that the 2nd amendment compelled you to act. It would lead to civil war if you won but is there a legal argument to me made that taking up arms against the government is constitutionally protected?

Cmon Donny - go ahead and fire Mueller. I think he really will do it.
All this crap targeting Mueller and the investigators is just laying the groundwork so his base believes it's the right call.

Speaking of laying the groundwork, they clearly have been expecting the obstruction leak for a while, because two hours after the WaPo story broke, they already had this ready to go, which was, of course, leaked lol. Also, grammar lol.

A rational man might suggest that the obstruction is the "easier" of the cases and one where the investigation is likely to be quicker and therefore able to be confirmed as happening (or not) at this point.
A rational man might also realize that a collusion investigation is not going to be concluded within a few weeks and drawing conclusions from the obstruction leak about the outcome of such an investigation would be asinine.
A rational man might at some point stop using a "but Clinton....but Obama" defense
A rational man.
Maybe I'm not rational but that WH memo sure looks like a hell of a lot of scrambling.
