Currently enjoying a beer in YHZ and great call on the Encore Plus seats. Snacks and water service, wasn't even offered coffee (Its a very short flight in the Q400). At Check-In there was no added cost for seat 2A, unsure of the roller bag requirements (Air Canada skychecked mine last time I was on a Q400) I stuck with row 6. I'll move next time.
Thanks folks

"Calgary Flames is the best team in all the land" - My Brainwashed Son
As of Tuesday (I think it's was 2 days ago) none of the WS operated AA codeshares (at least ones from Calgary like the YYC-PHX and YYC-LAX flights from WS) can be seen on AA's website.
There has not been a media release about that partnership coming to an end, and the only thing I found was someone from FlyerTalk saying that an AA Rep they spoke to mentioned that WS and AA codeshare agreements are ending in a few weeks and that post was from September.
Toured YYC tower yesterday morning, very very cool experience. They were training and had the sim running, so I got to take a shot at controlling tower west with 35L active. I'll humbly submit that I did ok, until I forgot that I had an Air Georgian 1900 on short final and I went and cleared an Emirates A340 into position, a quick radio to tell Emirates to hold short but they had already pulled forward enough for a conflict. Whoops!
Heck of a view they've got up there, the old tower was a nice view but being up even higher in this one allows for some incredible vistas.

Yup, perhaps a YYC-ATL flight will actually stick around this time as a result. Maybe YYC-Detroit comes to fruition too.
Also wonder if this might be a catalyst for Delta pulling their YYC/YEG flights and replacing with WS iron. WestJet probably has the capacity to do this and Delta may be suffering the same pilot shortage issues as other US carriers and might love to redeploy the assets used on these routes elsewhere. Also this probably means no Encore to Seattle now (if there was ever any thought to this route).

Compass, who flies YYC-SEA for Delta, is not having those issues. Nor is Delta mainline.
