That would be true if a Canadian dollar had the same purchasing power as a U.S. dollar.
It doesn't.
I've been saying this for years: Saying you're richer because you get paid in Canadian instead of U.S. dollars, is like saying you're taller because you get measured in centimetres instead of inches.

Huberdeau is better, since not being saddled with pouting Lindholm he is coming around. He can at least throw a hit two.
I would rather have neither but whatever.

I got paid in USD when I worked, there are some things that are a bargain

Despite what Walsh says, the players and their reps seem to think tax havens are important considerations. And when it comes to tax deferrals, that means income deferrals as well. If you paid attention to those long Zadorov interviews they were interesting as far as what seems important to a player. It's material stuff. Guys in their 20s don't think about how much they are saving for later and how that makes sense from a tax perspective. They think about how much they put in their account today and what car they can buy with it.

There is no NPV because the asset doesn't change.
Money has a PV and a FV because money grows over time.
The pick neither grows nor degrades

The players are paid in USD not CDN. A $5 million player in Calgary takes home about $567,000 less due to taxes vs Florida. However The 2,342,000 take home American is $3,313,000 CDN so don’t tell me that doesn’t balance out

It doesn't, because Canadian dollars buy less than American dollars. That's why the exchange rate isn't 1 to 1.
It's the same amount of money measured in different units. Why is this hard for anyone to understand?

I wonder if there is a chart showing Free Agent signings in States without an income tax?
Teams in those states are Panthers, Lightning, Stars, Golden Knights, and Kraken

Not much coming out now in terms of rumours... Think it'll happen soon and teams have locked it down in terms of leaks!

You forgot the Predators!
Tennessee has no state income tax.

All of these states without income tax just make me ask why they don't have income tax.

The acquiring team is giving up some asset today for a future asset. Would the asset they're giving up today not devalue over time?
Discussions about accounting theory sure must be bringing a lot of excitement to this thread.

Higher sales and property taxes, lower spending on infrastructure, education, social support, and health care.
So basically a bunch of reasons that exclusively screw poor and middle class people. A rich athlete's wet dream.
