I am probably a homer too, Brodie and Josi are so similar in quality its really hard to distinguish; both are top 10 dman in the league IMO, in a good year both could be Norris candidates (also IMO).
(edit: sorry I realized this was a Hamilton thread; did not mean to hijack)

I don't know if anyone posted the Edmonton Journal article about Dougie Hamilton in here, but the columnist ends his column by saying "good work by Chiarelli being aggressive and almost acquiring him." I wouldn't call forcing a team to trade a 22 year old stud dman to your most hated rival good work...
You guys are really underrating Ryan Ellis. He would be the Flames 4th dman, ahead of Russell and Wideman.
I would say Ellis = Russell skill wise. Take age into account and Ellis > Russell. They are very comparable players in terms of size and recent offensive success. I think Russell has the edge in the defensive department. Ellis was also injured for 1/3rd of the season so hopefully he doesn't become injury prone.
Yeah I don't really know who our #4 is between the two, but I paired Russell with Ellis because they play a similar style and they're both undersized. Pretty simplistic I know. It's difficult to make direct comparisons.
Nashville's D is certainly formidable. As is ours. Both are definitely top 3 in the league. The Hamilton acquisition was simply massive for this team, I still can't believe it happened.

I always get a kick when reporters write stories about "unnamed" GMs crying because they didn't know a player was available. That's just excuse making.
Treliving said he was calling Boston about Hamilton from the moment the season ended. Treliving knew the B's had a cap crunch, and he knew Hamilton was going to get expensive, fast. He did his homework, and he was prepared.
But even beyond that, the rumours of a Hamilton offer sheet were already several days old come draft day, and everybody should have known Boston would struggle to match. Those GMs should have been making calls and inquiring. If you're really interested in that hot girl at the dance, don't just stand there waiting for her to come to you.

I doubt it happens but I really hope we don't see any locker room tension between Brodie & Hamilton like what we saw with Phaneuf & Regher. Brodie has already phoned Hamilton when he got traded so again I doubt it happens

So if you doubt it happens why even randomly post it as a possibility?
