I find people getting excited about A.I. to be absolutely bizarre. It's coming for everything and I just can't imagine cheering it on. It feels like the people who are ultimately excited by it think they will be ahead of the curve but they won't be.
Ultimately I think it's going to be very bad for humanity.
I have friends putting AI art on products to sell. I don't have the heart to tell them that I'd never consider purchasing that garbage and I hate that people pretend there's some kind of talent involved.

Oh, I think it will definitely be bad for humanity. But there will be a sweet spot, kind of like the early days of the internet where it can be used and isn't full of ads/big data/government spying etc. The possibilities at this point are endless, which makes it easy to get excited about.

Yeah, other than playing around with it for some cheap laughs and appreciating the technology that went into designing it, I would never attend or download/pay for an "AI concert". It's coming for sure, but count me out. Same with AI art, cooking, chatting, whatever it might be. Nothing will replace human creativity.

Holograms singing AI music. I'm not suggesting this will be better, but someone will do it.

Except with a twist! The animatronics will have A.I and want to be us.
This Jim Carrey, Bill Hader SNL is not a skit, but a sneak peak into our future!

I am especially excited to AI trade proposals to start in the forum.
Will we be able to tell the difference???
Scary to think about.

I mean, we're already mostly there with Vocaloid and Vtuber concerts. Once AI gets indistinguishable between a real person singing vs. a program singing, how would people attending those concerts know any different?

You may be right but hasn't this been said about any new disruptive technology? Massive change enables opportunity at the same time it creates challenges to the status quo.

I propose a law that these must be identified clearly as Milli Vanilli concerts.

Didn't the Gorillaz do a tour where the whole stage was just the virtual characters on screen?
The band is really only two members.

Here is the current highest ranked V3 song (the highest ranked are pretty memey). It's literally a recipe for bean soup.

Pretty sure Suno still uses GPT 3.5 for the randomly generated lyrics and the lyrics are generally lower quality than a fine tuned GPT / context. The instrumentals can get really good that is indistinguishable from the real deal.

When you get in more niche genres it gets even more impressive. Songs like this is where it really shows its strengths and it's only getting better. V3 is currently still in alpha and not yet a full release

Good news, literally as I check Suno V3 is out to all users including free users.
Have at it with the grandmother bacon song and see how good it can get!

But how can you say no before you even know what it is?
Lots of concerts are a guy spinning a record, to minimize the dj experience. Imagine an entire light show, and music, maybe with Apple Pros on?
We have no idea what the experience may be like. I can appreciate human creativity but that doesn't mean I can't also appreciate other experiences that 'push the right buttons' so to speak.

On a mundane note, ChatGPT helped me extract data out of a #### spreadsheet. Took 20 minutes all in and saved hours of work. I can get onboard with more of that.
