Without a doubt. This was a desperate move from a man who has done nothing but let this team crumble to a pathetic shell of what it could have been. He has made bad signings (Jackman, Comeau, Babchuk, anyone associated with goaltending), and all he does is talk big talk.
I want a GM who shuts the #### up and builds a winning team.

While Weisbrod's hand may also be dirty on this one, I say make him the GM. The man does have an eye for talent.

Good lord. I've been very patient with Jay Feaster, and defended his moves often on here, but this is a simply unforgiveable oversight. I'd say it's time to move on.

Wow i am shocked that chris Johson might have been right. If so yes then Feaster should be fired if true.
As is, if Feaster does not make that mandate of being competitve for a playoff spot and does not get Iggy to re-sign i think he will be let go. This will just be the cherry on top.

Fire him. And King.

If I get loaded tonight and drive home and nothing happens, it is ok?

Just so I get this straight, we would have lost our first and third pick and then lost O'Reilly to entry waivers? I'm a little confused.

Yes. It is incredibly negligent and stupid. To potentially lose our draft picks for nothing is unforgivable, especially with a cupboard as bare as ours.
Also, if it officially came from the league, I'd like to see a link in the OP. So far, I have only seen twitter speculation.

exactly. The other alternative would have been to finish the season without ROR

MacKenzie's word is good enough for me. He just explained it in detail on twitter.

Would Calgary have not only lost the picks, but the 2.5M signing bonus? What position were they in waivers?

Burke is a media whore, but can be an excellent GM... then again, Toronto didn't do much during his tenure there.

Woah. Just caught this.
So what does that mean for Colorado? Do they have to let him sit or can they play him without putting him on waivers? Strange rule.
But a MAJOR bullet dodged.
Within the Flames management I'd like to know who's responsibility it is to know the ins and outs of the CBA to catch this stuff.
The buck stop at the GM but also whoever the CBA Guy is within that management group.
Yikes.

Because there has been precedence in this scenario, it is without question that Feaster and Company were at the very least negligent and derelict in doing their due diligence.
As such I would lean towards....yes he must go as it indicates a severe lack of awareness that is compulsory to doing that job.
So fortunate that the Avs matched or this club would be set back so far it could take a decade to climb out of.
Absolutely horrible decision. Really want to hear from Feaster on this. Cant imagine there is any lawyer speak he can use to mitigate what was almost a total disaster.

Why would the league come out with an official report about something that didn't happen?
