Genie with a win today, beating Zhang Shuai 7-6 (1), 6-2 at International Sydney.
Zhang is ranked 23rd, Genie 46th, so let's take that.

Dimitrov takes the Brisbane title defeating Nishikori 6-2 2-6 6-3 - First ATP title since Queen's Club in 2014. A re-focused Dimitrov is great to see, he's a very talented player.
A former World No. 8, Dimitrov saw his Emirates ATP Ranking slip to No. 40 midway through 2016 before a heart-to-heart career reflection with coach Dani Vallverdu saw the 25 year old turn around his career and finish the year at No. 17.
"It is one of the big moments for me," said Dimitrov, who claimed his first win over Nishikori in four FedEx ATP Head2Head encounters. "It's been quite a few months for me on and off the court. I think that was an emotional win for me, but at the same time, it wasn't unexpected. I have put in the work. I think I have learned a lot. I have gone through some serious work and I have just been working on myself on and off the court.

That's a nice win over a quality opponent in Cibulkova who's currently ranked #5 on the WTA tour.

6-2, 6-3 win to make the semis works. Likely gets Johanna Konta next.

This is a great run for Genie. I just saw a Tweet on Tennis Canada that says this is the first time since Wimbledon 2014 that she's beaten three Top 30 players at a tournament.

According to this article, she's back with Thomas Hogstedt who was coaching Madison Keys last year. It sounds like Genie sought him out, apologized for any previous issues between the two, and they agreed to work together again. Genie also has added a new fitness trainer as well.

This sounds like...maturity. Which can only be a great sign.

6-2, 6-2 loss to Konta. Hopefully she gets a decent draw tomorrow and can carry some confidence over to Melbourne.

Draw is out. Milos gets handed the always tricky Dustin Brown in the first round, so that'll be a good test right out of the blocks. In Novak's half of the draw, with a Nadal or Monfils quarter. But his section is pretty easy if he's focused, so he should easily make the quarters. Meanwhile the potential losers of the Roger lottery were Berdych (3rd round) and Nishikori (4th round). But for Roger beating those two only gets him Murray, then possibly Wawrinka, and then Djokovic. I'm obviously not expecting him to win, but if he does win it'll pretty much be his greatest major ever.
Genie gets Louisa Chirico in the first round, so not an easy start as she's a top 60 opponent. But if Genie can navigate that she hopefully can at least get into the fourth round and a matchup with Kerber. Didn't realize Belinda Bencic had become unranked, but Serena draws her right away so about as tough a first round matchup as there is for Serena.

Serena crushes everyone but she gets the toughest first round draws. Usually someone from 32-50

Speaking of Felix, he's moving up to the big times. Now signed with Nike.

Peter Polansky is keeping up his solid play from 2016 and has made the Australian Open main draw. Up first is Pablo Carreno Busta.

Well Genie/Milos on split days is kind of nice (for as long as they are both in). Genie up last on Margaret Court so probably 2:00AM MST or so. Milos tomorrow night/Tuesday morning. And Peter Polansky is same as Milos.

Milos is expected to be playing around 19:00 (Mountain) tomorrow night, second up on a court 2. I can't tell which TSN channel it will be on though. Genie should be on either TSN 1 or 4 tonight.
