But imagine the hilarity for that segment, just IMAGINE!
But in all seriousness what about Randy Sportak or Jean Lefebvre, they are both signed up here, and it would be great to get some media personalities on there.

I think any of the following guests would be able to offer great contributions and insight in their respective fields:
Peter Mahr
Jean Lefebvre
Ken King
Darryl Sutter
Craig Conroy
Andrew Ference
Rhett Warrener
Gus Thorson
Tod Button and/or Mike Sands
Jamie McLennan

Some ideas... - Some former 1st round picks that came through the Calgary farm club before making the NHL (doesn't have to be playing for the Flames now, or playing at all) who also was developed in another teams farm club to compare/contrasts development concepts between different teams. (ie. Brooks Orpik was a guy who sounded off about Pittsburg's)
- Some former Flames from the mid-late 90's to bring us back to the ol' days (for me anyways)... what was it like for Todd Simpson to be captain, what was Zarley Zalapski like, how did it turn out that Rick Tabaracci got traded for the Kidd/Roloson duo.
- QC play by play or coaching staff, to talk about some lesser known prospects, like what Chucko has to do to make the bigs.
- whoever manages the business of the Flames, to talk about their ideology of the cap era, where they see the economics going, what difficulties they see going on.
- maybe some idea of where we are with a new arena
- For CP posters, Cowperson and Lanny (I know Lanny is gone)
- some former head coaches to talk about the evolution of the game to where we are now, from the trap era and so on
- Craig Button, to talk a little more about where he was planning on going with the Flames identity before he got sacked. (ie. the Regehr-Morris combo he envisioned)
Not to be anal, but what I hope I don't see is the CP inside jokes going from the msg board to air, ie. hookers and blow, hale storm, fata and so on.

I'd really like to hear from any guest who is willing to be candid about any aspect of the team that we are not privy to as fans, say covering the team for print, or for TV/radio, the day-to-day operations of the club and such.

Our goal is to create a show that is focused on the CP community but is also accessible to someone not familiar with calgarypuck and the lingo.
I'm not a fan of inside jokes on radio at all. The show will develop it's only natural "language" as all shows do. We won't be forcing it.
Great input overall. Thank you.

I think Jamie McLennan would be very entertaining. So much to talk about - His time playing in Japan, Tyson Nash's nose, His visit with Keenan to see Kiprusoff in Finland, the new job etc...

I agree with other posters that would like to see the "atypical" sports talk show. It would be great if you could find guests that we won't hear on the Fan or TSN or Sportsnet.
Some ideas:
Former Flames players from the 1980s that would talk candidly about about the Battle of Alberta glory years. (Colin Paterson, Joel Otto type guys)
Doug Risebrough or someone from his front office to discuss the underachievement and subsequent dismantling of that talented early 90s team.
Gus Thoreson or someone from the current team staff to talk about day to day life with the Flames and the long grind of the NHL season.

I don't like his commentary but I love Pierre Mcguire on the Fan960. He always has some pretty interesting insights.

We need someone who would go "Undercover", where we don't know their identity and use one of thoes garbled voices to give us some "Inside" stuff. Like we could ask questions, and they could give simple "YES"... "NO" .. "I don't know" answers..
Someone who's maybe on the "INSIDE" and can't really give up the goods.. Like a former player, Rink Rat, Operations, current player, whatever.
They could answer questions directly from the Forum, the Hosts or callers.
I think you could have alot of fun with that...

CRTC does not apply to independant internet-based radio unless you are somehow exploiting children. Looking for a link right now...
EDIT: CRTC can and will report you to the owners of any copyrighted material you illegally use though, if they catch wind of it.

Sean O'Brien, team services manager.... You'd have a hard time getting him on though, but he'd be fun.

News Release

CRTC WON’T REGULATE THE INTERNET
OTTAWA-HULL — The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) announced today that it will not regulate new media services on the Internet.
After conducting an in-depth review under the Broadcasting Act and the Telecommunications Act beginning last July, the CRTC has concluded that the new media on the Internet are achieving the goals of the Broadcasting Act and are vibrant, highly competitive and successful without regulation. The CRTC is concerned that any attempt to regulate Canadian new media might put the industry at a competitive disadvantage in the global marketplace.
"By not regulating, we hope to support the growth of new media services in Canada," says Françoise Bertrand, CRTC Chairperson. "The CRTC is one of the first regulators in the world to clarify its position on the Internet."
