Haha. Well, if this is a case where you think this deal is going to go south on you (from Apple's perspective), my advice would be to use the money up right away and then try a different auction for your "play" money.

ie: Buy a couple TV seasons in HD or something. Then go for another (safer) auction if you just want some money in the account for renting a movie now and then.

Edit: I probably could have (and should have) posted my experiences with this stuff earlier. My apologies if I could have saved you from buying this auction in the first place.

don't worry about it, there's still a chance it's legit. Really it was such a good deal that even if I lost all the money it won't be a big problem.

Well it all came through ok so far. Interesting couple of days ... a long time ago I was getting spammed like crazy from somebody named "ebaymember", so I set up a filter to automatically send any email with that in the senders name to the trash. By pure chance I happened to look into my trash today and there was the code sitting and waiting for me (obviously I had long forgotten about the filter). He had asked that it be activated within 24 hours and it was close to 30 hours old. I tried the code and it didn't work. I contacted him and told him the code didn't work and he was pretty quick in issuing me a new one that works fine.

I took a closer look at his experience and he does have a 100% rating with over 90 transactions which is much better than I thought. I was thinking of the record of somebody I was going to buy from (but was outbid) and it wasn't quite as solid.

Thanks for all the help Fan, if there were still reputation squares I would DEMAND that you receive several.
