If the Flames lose all 11 remaining games, we'll finish with 71 pts.
Anaheim is 30th currently with 52 points. If they won all 11 of their remaining games they'll finish with 74 points.
Chicago is 31st currently with 47 points. They could theoretically end up with 67 points max.
So if everything possible went "right", the Flames could finish 30th.
But realistically, Seattle could easily jump over us. Ottawa is 26th with 64 points, which seems like too large of a gap to pass us but I haven't looked at strength of schedules or how each team is trending.
Flames finishing with the 8th best odds seems most likely to me.

####ing pathetic commentary, catering to their crybaby culture.
Bad calls happen to every team in most games. Why not just be professional and recap the game without singling out an inconsequential PP call?
It signals entitlement that shouldn't have a place at the highest level of hockey as well as the pervasive bias that exists at sportsnet.

I don’t think we want Van to lose in the first round though

We always want them to lose. Always. And we get more from Las Vegas winning anyway.

Cheating is allowed when playing Edmonton or Vancouver

yes we do - the first round pick being as good as possible is better than a 4th becoming a 3rd

I think 7th overall is the best we can do. Ottawa is streaking a bit. Seattle winning.
We have some soft games left. Twice vs San Jose and Anaheim and the Coyotes. I’m already counting those 10 points. I also want to crush the Oilers and Canucks.
Tanking ain’t easy.

also, if VAn plays VGS, VGS winning the round turns a 3rd into a 2nd

All I know is I want Vegas to advance to round 2 and Dallas to reach the Stanley Cup finals.

Best scenario:
1) VAN is the worst of the division winners
2) VAN loses in round 1
3) VGS wins in round 1
4) DAL wins the conference
5) EDM burns to the ground

Someone please make this all happen. It's only justice for us still watching these games...

Saskatchewan will still be 6-12 the next time the Flames make the playoffs, and most of us will be fine with that arrangement.
