Just passed 1900km on the bike this morning, I've never done more than 400km in a year so this is huge for me. The overwhelming majority of it is commuting. Come Sunday it will be 8 months of riding this year, but I thought we had 6 months of winter here?

Excellent job, Bigtime. Almost at 3000. I started off slowly and have been really disciplined since moving back downtown. My knee is still trashed, but I finally have my consult this month, excited to see what I can do with two good knees.

I started "really" cycling again in April after sporadically riding for the last few years. I set a goal of 2000km and even with July off I'm sitting at 2500+km. Strava's been great for tracking data. I need those goals to keep myself motivated.

I've moved to the trainer already because I can't do the commute from McKenzie Towne with the kids in school. Zwift has made the time on the trainer more fun. It's neat to see people from all over the world riding at the same time. I get passed all the time but those rare moments when I pass someone from Japan make it all worth while.

exceptional year here in 2016 as I rode to work in march (somewhere around the 20th) - I think the earliest I have typically ridden to work was around mid-april.

some of the warmest riding days were in early may (as I recollect)

My first ride this year was April 6th, so rapidly approaching 8 months of riding.

I'm closing in on 2500km according to Strava; I would like to reach 3000 by Christmas. If the weather holds, that should be achievable. I rode a few times in February and March along the Nose Creek pathway, but I didn't really start commuting until April.

Well done guys, I wasn't logged in or recording, but I assume I rode about 1024km this year. 99% commute, not enough leisure or fun...

Thanks in large part to this thread I started cylco-commuting for the first time in almost 10 years.
Presently just over 2300km in Strava, 100% commuting. Hoping to get to 2500 before I put my new ride away for the year.
Feel way better physically than I have in a few years, so a sincere thanks from this lurker.

My goal this year was to cycle more than I drove. Unfortunately my knee injury in June has shut me down for the year. I had an MRI two weeks ago and hope to find out the results, and the recovery plan, this week or next week. I was at 3,855 kms for the year, with 38,850 metres in elevation gain from January to July.

Are all you commuters using Strava to track your mileage? Or a cyclo computer?

I hate using GPS apps constantly as it murders my phone battery for the day.

I use Strava and it seems pretty light on the battery usage while running (iPhone 6).

I use a Garmin Edge 500, and then upload it to Strava once a week. I had some difficulties getting it to sync originally, but I think those were user problems, rather than hardware/software problems. If my current Garmin ever breaks, or I lose it, there are some awesome Garmin products I'd like to have on my bike. I can't justify buying a new one, when my current one works perfectly.

I use my Fitbit Surge. It syncs after I'm done. It's better on battery for longer rides so I've just stuck with it for all of them. It also adds the heart rate data which is nice.

I pulled the bike off the trainer for a rip around Fish Creek. Lots of people out there. Planing to get out a couple more times this weekend. Gotta take advantage.
